This is great news. I hope it does hit the states, we got shafted with the remakes of 1-5 on PS2.

OH man. I will be all over this if it comes to the US. I have beaten them when I had a Turbo about 10 times easily.

Another Ys fan here. Hopefully it makes it stateside. It would be nice to see some handheld love for the Far East of Eden series, too.

that would be a long shot. since they never translated any of them
and brought them stateside. it would be super though.

I loved this game(s) on the TurboCD too! I imagine it would be easy to include the translation in the DS titles as they`re manufactured, so I hope the English will be an option on the Japanese releases... Too bad they`re splitting them up into two games - is that how they were originally released in Japan? It doesn't seem right to me somehow; I always looked at them as two chapters in the same game - I could never play just Book I or Book II!

Are not The Legend of Heroes games on PSP also by the crew that made Ys? Anyone tried those?

They have god awful translations. Still playable and fantastic games, just be ready to for some mix-ups. Also I think in reality the games were released in japan with the Second Legend of Heros as the first, Then the first second, and the third last.

However, they are the last 3 of six games of the series...

Bottom line, good games, if you are interested, play them.

I have beaten Ys Book I&II for the Turbo Grafx CD, Ys III: Wanderers from Ys for the SNES and Ys: The Ark of Napishtim (Ys VI) for the PS2 but I have almost beaten Ys IV with the english patch for the PCE Super CD and I went through 4 bad burned cdr discs that would stop working near the end of the game and so I never gotten a chance to finish it. Ys IV really takes place after Ys Book I&II and Ys III takes place after Ys IV I heard. To bad that we never got Ys IV&V. :(

Since Ys I&II was remade for the DS I really think that we deserve a remake of Ys III,IV&V for the DS because I am such a big fan of these great rpg's. To bad tha we only got Ys: The Ark of Napishtim for the PS2 and not the PS2 remakes. I better check out that Ys anime sometime. :D

I will buy it, cuz it Ys...but the DS remakes are pretty poor. Play like a celphone game or something. Awful 3D with crappy little sprites over the top. I would've preferred a port of Ys eternal for PC or at least the TG-16 versions as a bonus on the cart or something.

Agreed, still my fave. Holds a very special place for me. First game I bought for my TGCD system. [pours 40oz out]

Trust me. We're better off. Taito's PS2 remakes are absolutely godawful. The Ys III one is only okay, and that's because the sprites look nice. Everything else about them is weak.

There really that awful, man i guess that the art covers made me drool and I didn't realize that they were that bad. Maybe remakes of III,IV&V will be made by Konami like they made Ys: The Ark of Napishtim. I like being able to jump, slash, defend with shield and use spells etc. Ys: The Ark of Napishtim (VI) had cool voice dialog with text on screen when talking to non playable characters which was kind of neat. There is a prequel to Ys I&II I heard. :)

We sure need a Ys VII for the next gen consoles or handhelds. :D

I just beat Y's 1 Complete for the pc the other day.
Wow it just blew me away, I heard its even slightly enchanced from the Ps2 version. Dunno. But now I really wish somebody would patch those Sega Ages Phantasy Star Games.
Reminds me of playing it on the sms in the 80's, good times.
Y's Perfect Patch
Yeah about 3/4 down the page past all the anti Obama stuff he has his patches. Worked flawlessly so far in part 1.

There is no apostrophe in Ys.

And you're welcome.

(I translated those games. Nightwolve hacked them.)

It's even more awesome when folks pronounce it as "whys".
