Hey everyone! I'm new here, and I just wanted to pop in, say hello, and maybe explain why I'm here a little bit. I don't want to subvert the point of this board, so I'll start off with my Neo-Geo history.

I'm here today to track down one of those lost friends. I think you know him as "Mike Shagohod". I knew his as, simply, "Gunner"... though I suppose at times I simply referred to him as "you incorrigible b*st*rd". I'm hoping that someone on this board has a way to contact him that he'll see, via private message or a current email or whatever. I'm not sure he's still active here, though quick googling shows that he'd at least made an appearance in April of last year. I'm probably coming off as a bit stalker-ey, but frankly I don't care. I'm hoping to reconnect and at least catch up with him. If anyone has the ability, please, shoot him a message and let him know Fretzy is looking for him. I imagine he'll remember me.

In any case, thanks for listening to my long-winded story!

did some body already help this guy out? he never posted again so you won't be able to pm him. but maybe someone who knows his facebook or whatever could email this Fretzy? I can't help but I'll put up mercs most recent 'social post' http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showt...bastids-quot&p=3604449&highlight=#post3604449

Hello from Cameroon(West Africa)
I finally meet with people who share my passion and am very happy to be here and participate in multiple discussions on neo geo and 2d gaming.
I am more of a player but I collect too because the games remind me of the gud old days when I was young and stuff.
Thanks everyone
cheers

Hello all from Austin,

I recently purchased an MVS cab and one of my friends at work recommended that I join this forum to get some advice, talk about MVS, get ideas for upgrades to my cab, find games to try and games to buy (WTB: Metal Slug 5, cart only is fine)

I'm trying to be active in the forums without bumping old posts with "Me too" type responses. I can't start threads yet or find applicable threads with the search tools. It feels kinda like a secret club that I have to be initiated into more then an online forum.

Good thing there's a thread where I can ask my new guy question...
I took the monitor glass off my mvs2-21 cab to clean it and noticed the glass is tinted, like a smoke grey. I have a dynamo cab and the glass is clear. Does anyone else have tinted glass in their cab?

I contacted merc about it, he will look into it. So far it seems they do know eachother. That's all I know.

Hey everyone! I'm new here, and I just wanted to pop in, say hello, and maybe explain why I'm here a little bit. I don't want to subvert the point of this board, so I'll start off with my Neo-Geo history.

I've never owned an MVS or AES. I've been exposed to many of the classic NG games, but have never had the opportunity to experience them outside the arcade. Always wanted one of the home consoles, but couldn't afford it. That is, until the NGPC. I grabbed up a NGPC back around the time they first hit State-side. I bought "Dark Arms: Beast Buster" along with it as my first game and loved it! Shortly after I got the system the only game store in the area that carried the games closed up shop, so I'm somewhat ashamed to say I tracked down a blank cartridge for the thing (I was a teenager, and poor. I've changed my ways, I swear!) . Played with it quite a bit before relegating it to a box where it sat for almost 10 years before I sold the system and the "linker" to pay some bills. So that's my SNK story.

Now... for the real reason I'm here. In the early 2000s I was running a small fan-site for a less than well known japanese animation series, Armored Trooper Votoms. I was a teenager and it was practically my whole world at the time. During the course of my fan-site administration I met a motley bunch of characters that shared in my Votoms obsession. Those were great times, and a lot of fun was had on the forum and through IRC. Over the years my life took a turn and my interests changed. I began to drift away from the anime scene and in the process lost contact with a lot of people I'd come to appreciate. WOW! Juppo and and I have wondered what the fuck happened to you man? One day the site was "just gone". We figured you'd gone *to the diner* and found some dimensional rift or some shit and left our realm. I have no idea what happened to the others, I just remember my last convo was with that weird guy ShadowFie. His obsessions made anything I do look tame in comparison, though you might be disappointed bro.

I've changed quite a bit since the days you remember me. Don't post here much save the occasional few times a year when I "ride into town and leave" after about a week. I'm only here now because another member and friend of mine mentioned to me on Facebook "some dude named Fretzy is looking for you." I had to gauge if it's really you, I guess it is.

I'm divorced now but have two kids, one 8 year old daughter and one 5 year old son. My daughter (surprise, surprise) I named FYANA after the perfect soldier from VOTOMS and she's already lived up to the name. ---Still a VOTOMS nut and recently got back into Japanimation, but in limited quantities. I really don't care for most contemporary anime to be honest. Found the love of my life about a year after walking out my marriage after the bitch cheated on me (we weren't in love for years anyhow, so it's no big deal, PRINCIPLE of the matter) and am in the best place of my life these days.

don't know what else to expound on. Don't even know if you'll see this post.

Climbs into his ATM-09-STTC "Homicidal Texan" A.T. and gets ready to enter The VOBA ---never thought I'd type that up again.

Hey All!
I'm just popping in to say hello. Over the weekend, I picked up a 2 slot Neo Geo MVS conversion cab (as a useless bit of trivia, it appears to have been originally a Moon Patrol cab before being gutted and converted). It came with Fatal Fury Special and Samuri Showdown.

After stumbling onto this site in a Google search, I've found a bunch of information but am always striving to find more.
It's been interesting reading up on all of the various games available and the price guides...as a side question, does anyone know where I can find a copy of NAM 1975? It's listed as common, but I haven't seen a copy for sale anywhere...

Anyways, post number one, f#$! newbie and all that jazz!

that cab ain't too bad, great you dive into the hobby this way. Maybe you can polish the look a bit: I'd try to remove those big red stickers on the side and get "NEO GEO" and "MVS" decals from Jason - making it a rather black/dark Neo cab, think that could be real awesome ^^

It definitely is one way to dive into this hobby! I've wanted one of these since I first saw one in a bowling alley back in the early 1990's.

The other side doesn't have a logo on it, and at some point that will irritate me to address the side art to make it symmetrical. (why only one side ever got the Neo Geo logo when rebuilding I'll never know...doesn't look like it was applied and peeled). I'll definitely keep Jason in mind...it looks like he does nice work.

I just joined this forum today, I want to PM people and make some offers on carts. I joined because I'm a hard-core gamer. Arcade cabinets are definitely something nostalgic to me. I also joined because maybe I can get some help on fixing my MVS 4 slot cabinet I got it pretty cheap and compared to what I've seen on here it's pretty ghetto.

Hey everyone,
Feeling pretty embarrassed right now. Saw a great deal over in the Selling forum and went to jump on it, only to realize I can't do much of anything on this forum...yet. So here I am introducing myself.

I have to admit, how I got to the forum is probably as new-jack a reason as they come, but I imagine others recently have the same story, and I'm being honest here. I didn't really have an interest in Neo Geo until Jeff at Giant Bomb started down the rabbit hole and began talking about it in videos and podcasts, talking about consolized MVS systems, Unibios, and of course Windjammers. (I guess Steve Lin is really to blame for noobies like me jumping into this world). I ended up buying one of the Omega systems with the built-in memory card. I only have one cart at this time, Blazing Star (I'm very interested in shmups), but literally several times a day I'm checking around looking for the next carts to add to my collection.

My eventual plan is to stream not only Neo Geo games on Twitch but other retro systems too. I want to pair all original hardware with quality up-scaling (I have a framemeister). It's nothing new, there are certainly people doing it already, but in the grand scheme of things there's a ton of people throwing up streams of emulated retro games, and not too many doing it on the original hardware.

As far as my history with Neo Geo, I never owned the AES system, none of my friends even had it. But growing up in New England (I'm 31 now), I had pretty constant access to places with arcade cabs, whether it was a dedicated arcade or just a business that happened to have machines. I was no stranger to the red Neo Geo MVS cabs, of course it would be years later until I really learned about the guts of those cabs.

Well here I am. I'll get in where I fit in at my own pace, and maybe some day I'll be able to send PMs!

Hello Everyone
I always wanted a neogeo but never could afford one but I could afford the game collection on other consoles and played the crap out of the neogeo machines at arcade because I would frequent casinos with my grandmother in reno.

Atm I am collecting for Sega Saturn Dreamcast Super nintendo and Sega Genesis. I have a lot of the neo-geo games that have came out lately for Dreamcast. I do plan on getting a aes at some point and a multicart because I dont have the funds for 100 to 1000 game carts (wish I did)

Anyways I work at the other 4 screen theater in Kauai as a projectionist.

Forgot to mention and I couldn't edit my post is it took me forever to get the ability to even respond in this forum as I was blocked from everything I had to hunt people down on psn and get help because I couldn't pm mods or admin it was a nightmare for about 1 year lol.

I was also directed just today that Xian Xi might be able to mod my Sega Genesis for me but I cant pm him to ask.

My MVS-4-25 (ver 3) currently has the crappy, worn-out Happ Competition sticks the previous owner installed. I'm thinking pretty hard about switching to Sanwa JLFs. Other than Paradise Arcade (who aren't selling them to the public yet), does anyone make an adapter plate for this?

Hi all.
I'm Carl from the UK.
I joined a few years ago when got my Second AES system after selling my first in 94 ( what a stupid thing to do)
2 years ago had a child and sold all my AES collection again ( never learn )
Last year I dug out the old cabs in garage and sold um.
Using that money I found a Neo Geo sports cab at a great deal.
Within 6 months I've got up to 26 games ( from the 5 in cab )
In the last month my original 6 slot died, replaced with a 2 slot, now faulty.
I've been on UKVAC for a while, but unable to get Neo Geo help came back here.
Hope to chat, get help, and hopefully get more games.
Cheers
Carl

Hello from Blanka's Stage, Brazil. I'm getting interested in the Neo Geo, and since I like forum drama too this forum was a perfect match!
