Just wanted to mention this game... guess I'm late to the party again (as always) but I really love Heavy Recoil a lot. It's an Indie game on the 360 that looks and plays like a cross between Green Beret and Contra.
This is the quote from the game info screen that got me:
"Heavy Recoil - Convoy Chaser, is an action packed, side scrolling arcade shooter. * Retro Gameplay * Retro Low Res * No Continues * Horizontal Only * 2 Player Co Op * Abilities * Secondary Weapons * A Story * And much more!"
Graphics are a bit pixely but who cares... sound is great though, there are some excellent tracks and sound f/x in there. Love the Genesis-style "thud" sound when the player character gets thrown at the start of a level in some sort of drop-ship.
So... if any if you guys still like old-school run'n'gun games, give this one a try.
