I'm not too picky about condition as long as it's the original boards in good working order. I don't care too much if it's a repro shell or repro label, but I'd like it to be a better label than masking tape with the name written in marker :P

I can pay via Paypal.

EDIT: Metal Slug 1 and 3 on the way now. Just need Metal Slug 5

EDIT AGAIN: Got 5 a few days ago, I'm good now :)

Goog luck finding this man. It seems lately MS5 is the hardest one to obtain, while 4 is the easiest. If you have a supergun, you can get the JAMMA dedicated board, tho.

Regards.

That's indeed a boot. Do we know how many MS5 mvs were produced? I've seen tons of PCBs but very few mvs kit available.
I'm pretty sure MS5 was only released on PCB in Japan like KoF 2003 and SvC Chaos. So all the carts you see are made for western arcades, and with the state arcades were in during 2003 I don't think they had a very long print run for MS5. I could also see Japanese MVS owners trying to get the english carts, which is a lot more convienient than having to switch the entire system out.

Thank you so much! I checked Japanese sites and MS5 & SvC are all in PCBs. So do we have any information about English release numbers?

Dang, kuze! Good job!!! So we know MS5 mvs isn't that "rare" at all. It should be more than 2600 copies floating around :)

Yeah my personal cart is around the 1800 range. I believe the English cart is the 'Export' cart and was likely given to all other regions outside of Japan.

I got my ms5 a couple weeks ago, I had to import it from France. It's number is 2474 and cost me about $190. I think your best bet is to just keep on checking eBay. Lots of boots out there but the ones I see have pretty bad labels. If you get real desperate there is a guy I always see on eBay selling a metal slug set for a ridiculous amount of money. I wish you luck my friend.

My guess is around 5000 MVS carts. I've never seen a serial higher than 5000. I don't know how many JAMMA kits are out there on top of that.

I wonder what range I should expect this to go for.
I don't particular care to pay the extra for a complete kit, but it seems my options are limited.

Man, having a couple complete kits is nice. The paperwork and minimarquees add to the cart. Besides, the boxes are nice to keep some other stuff you do not use frequently :)

Cart is so shiny~~~~~~
(so seller doesn't even play the game or what..........why is it so shiny????)

Maybe the seller does not play it frequently. Maybe he's just careful with his stuff? I bet many of us here have had some things for longer than 20 years and they still look and work like the first day. I know I do.

Last kit I watched if I remember correctly hit somewhere between $300-400. Maybe wait for a loose cart. How much do you want to spend?

Honestly, I didn't want to go much over $200. lol
I haven't seen many sales to know what realistic expectations are for it in a complete kit or cart only. I'd be fine with a roughed up but intact cart with a repro label for maximum cheapness (just want to play the game with the legit boards), but it's not like there's dozens of choices for me to choose from :P

Then good luck with search.............
I got MS5 kit (unmatched serial) complete in excellent condition cost me $250, and that was five months ago.....
Not sure if you can find something around $200.............
(But you can get PS2 MS anthology for cheap price though.....)

Yeah brother I hear ya. Ive been watching sales since January and ill let you know what I saw since then. I saw a loose cart sell for $140, another loose cart sell in the 230 range, the kit I mentioned above and the one I bought in which no one bid on until the last day and it shot up to the price around 200. Id watch this auction for fun and probably just wait for a loose legit one to pop up.
