WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

It's 2016, "English AES" is equivalent to unicorns. Just get one on MVS for $20.

AES 4 LYFE
This is just one of those games that I always wanted but couldn't afford. Since my arcade prototype deal fell through, figured I'd throw this one out there. I'd be happy with even a loose cart that's beat up as long as it's not a conversion. Let's be realistic, this game is total LS status. I don't remember ever seeing a copy besides the pics from the neo store. And some guy had one on eBay apparently last your along with a Neo Turf Masters, but I totally missed the auctions.

So I'm out of the loop, I still think an English MOTW should be $550, not $5500. :lolz:
What is this game going to run me? Anyone got a loose cart & or manual?

I know this game is crazy expensive. I heard of a recent private sale for a complete one that went for $8,000.

The insert alone was on eBay for $999... lol not that it sold but still...

I haven't seen one around for a while. Good luck with the search.

The JPN Stakes Winner 2 is here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/282056560913?rmvSB=true

dem yen stickers

The spine sunfading is a bummer, but how cool is that mark down price on the spine?!
I know it's horse racing, but in Japan that's a super popular genre so don't know how it got uber clearanced.

This game is near impossible to find. I'll probably put something in my sig and just keep a close eye on ebay.

One of my friends bought a complete (eng) copy close to $ 7000 couple months ago iirc. Couldn't believe it was that expensive nor that he threw down that much for it, insane.

Damn homecart stuff is so far beyond anything i would spend now really hard to believe the rise in last 3 years.

In Stake Winner's defense, it's insanely rare and goes for much less than carts of the same rarity.

Edit: I t's also really fun, please try it before you knock it. I hate sports games but love Neo Arcadey Sports games.

No shit, right? I bought most of my games during the mid 90s/early 2000s at launch so I was lucky. I would never dream prices would skyrocket like this.

Like many I sold most of my collection years ago to buy a nice car. Worst decision I've made. I thought the 2006/2009 prices were already expensive, and I thought in time as neo because more obscure that homecart prices would go fown instead of up. I felt like when I sold my collection that it was no big deal at all and that I could always rebuy them for what I sold them for. I had a huge & mostly English collection, even multiple copies of arse-rare games. My collection would be worth 6 digits easy today, and that's excluding my MVS collection which was primarily loose carts but complete English kits for desireable titles (except JPN exclusives of course).

The only answer now is Suicide.

I'd honestly be happy just owning a loose cart and displaying it plugged into an AES. Once again, if anyone has any leads please shoot me a PM. I may have to go the JPN route to begin with because my searches arent resulting in any findings. A fool and her money are soon parted. :p

Retro hipsters ruined neo geo prices. You know, collecting English AES is a shit load more expensive than Japanese.

I've never played or owned this game. Not interest in horse racing game :)

I'm not a fan of bowling or baseball, but league bowling and baseball stars are fun. It's a Neo game, not some super serious horse racing sim. Play it....

Not trying to derail this thread or anything but, Stakes Winner is a fantastic game to have... on MVS... for like 20-30 bucks.

Worth every dollar. It gets in the 3 Count Bout league when we're talking about button mashing. Ideal to wreck some A buttons.
