If your business has integrity, you honor that contract, regardless of whether or not you screwed up.
I'm sure many of you have gotten "deals" that if the seller knew about what they had, they would've spit in your face. It's good for you when you pick it up, but not when it's you taking the hit.
He chose to honor this contract regardless of financials. For all these people who say the Neo is not abot $$$ or whatever... and the BS that passes for "doing right by the community" etc... you change your tune for something like this.
You'll lambast people for shill bidding and other questionable(but legal) tactics, but when it comes to having your feet held to the fire on a LEGAL sale... all bets are off.
Think about your hypocrisy.
