Yes, I am not playing the Kings of Fighters except for 98 UM Hero on PGM2. The others are inferior.

Jesus Christ 94 is sublime. None derserve a vote till 2k3.

94 has way too much in the way of rose tinted nostalgia glasses. It plays really jank, projectiles are mostly worthless, you have fixed teams, the AI is brutal, and the in-game art in it looks sandpapery for lack of a better term. The music and stages are all time classics, but they're not the best in the series IMO.

I get the big love for it if it was your first and you played it back in 94, but objectively it's not all that great when compared to the others.
