Maximillian Dood posts a Youtube video suggesting the Pro may be worth getting because it improves FF7: Rebirth's visuals.

Here's a better idea: use that money to get a better RPG (there's a lot) and whatever console it comes on. I had more fun with Skies of Arcadia: Legends than all of Square's last RPGs post-Chrono Trigger combined.

Well, it was an absolute shitshow, but I pre-ordered a controller.

I hope Milo is doing well!
Looks shaved kind of like Roker’s mom, just patches here and there.

It’s been a journey. Multiple shaves=IV sedation and pic line for meds. Poor buddy had a stomach twist.
It was only dumb luck that it happened while I was home to see the duress, and that a world-class surgical center was only 45 mins away.

Fixed the twist, saved the spleen, and stapled the tummy to the abdominal wall to prevent future GI problems.

I should’ve posted this in the recent purchases thread…14k on teh bill!

Holy shit, Jimbo.

Stomach twist is no joke if not treated quickly. Do you know the cause?

Just being a Greater Swiss Mountain dog is cause enough, my vet said. I had the same question as you; I thought this was something that only happened to horses and bigger mammals.

Bloat took place, and the dominos fell. We got *really* lucky.

Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story are great games post Chrono Trigger.

FF7 is dear to my heart but I attempted to replay it some years back and…well…yeah. Unplayable, lol.

I loved FFT, up to the point where the majority of the game's villainy could be explained away by gems possessing bodies. The political intrigue was quite riveting, especially for its time. I really should give Vagrant Story a go when I get the time as it's one of those games I've heard consistently good things about.

SaGa Frontier 2 is my favorite post-CT Square release. Just a gorgeous game. Love the plot of a destined ruler who can't wield magic like the rest of his bloodline, becomes shunned by his kingdom, and becomes a badass blacksmith/warrior instead.

FF7 is a good experience, but it's not necessarily a very good video game.

RPGs are pretty much gay little teenage animes that we like when we're gay little teenagers. Maybe it's OK to like them when we're big faggot 40s? Guilty pleasures for sure tho. Out of the blue I put on a longplay of Lunar SSSC last night so I have authority to speak on this subject.

They're also almost all the exact same story, that's what really bugs me. How many times do you need go through the same generic little cliche hero story?

Oh you're a generic 14 year old boy from some bumfuck village with a mysterious scar. You set out on an adventure and assemble a party of equally generic character types. The bad guy wants to rule and/or destroy the world. There's a magical tower or giant tree. You learn that you're actually the descendant of some mythical hero. The bad guy is defeated with the power of friendship. Press X for 30 hours to trudge through insipid dialogue boxes and turn based combat. Rinse and repeat with incredibly minor tweaks.

Really thrilling stuff.

There's a reason they all have excellent soundtracks. If they didn't you'd turn the game off after 4 hours.

At least action-rpg's have some actual gameplay.
