Why is Ninja Warrior so fucking awesome?

I don't get cable TV at home, so when I discovered this show at college I was hooked. I love it, it is so insane, and I can't stop watching it. Any other lovers of Ninja Warrior?

My ninja warrior is superior.

I'm reading that the 2007 season has a completely redone first stage.
Today they were at stage 3 and the only remaining guy was at the very end but couldn't make it on the landing. I was in shock.

I gotta say I agree. This is a really fun show to watch, especially seeing some of the guys fail and come back. I don't know what it is, but this is far more entertaining than some of the other Japanese obstacle course shows.

The big Olympic American guy made me realize how tiny Japanese people are.
He's the same height as me, but before I knew that I thought he was like 6'7'' or something because of how tall he was in comparison to everyone else.

Gameshows rarely hand out huge loads of money. Who wants to be a millionaire had that option but people rarely broke into the high winnings. Considering also the contestants on the show are gas station attendants, and such 20k wouldn't be bad.

Oh yeah, Makoto Nagano the fisherman -- I coulda sworn he was like in his 40s, and then the new season of NW that began a few weeks ago say he's in his early 30s.
Not to mention that the English announcer say the guy with bad eyesight is still the only guy who won it, although Makoto won it last season or something.
I think they're going back in time. It'd be interesting to see the first NW.

I want to be in Ninja Warrior so bad. I just want to play on the obstacles.
I don't care if I had to play the part of some 'baka American gaijin', I just want to PLAY.

I want to hang out with Toshihiro Takeda (cutest smile in the world!) and the fisherman, and when someone gets eliminated I want to be with them when they go "Oooohh! :-( " and it'll be like we're friends.
