Why does KOF XII suck so much? (Was "So KOF XII is delayed?")

The PS3 patch has already been submitted to Sony. They are just waiting on approval. Not sure about 360.

I finally played the game again after weeks of letting it sit on the shelf, and found all of ONE person on Live at the time. It's really sad.

Just had a session myself on PSN. I had one good connection, as the rest were lagtastic as usual. Still awaiting patch so I can fully enjoy this game with a ton of players.

My last session on the 360 was very good. I quit this time because I couldn't stand my Neo Stick, not because of the connection.

The PS3 KOF XII I bought was from Ebay, an Asian version (Korean?) and cost £34... think that's probably less than what some stores are selling it for officially, and free next day delivery. Highly recommend grabbing that instead of waiting!

There are also some sellers on Ebay that have the official strategy guide from Brady Games for about £11 + P&P if anyone is interested.

I'm actually interested in the guide/mook Hobby Japan put out for this game. I'm kinda puzzled why Enterbrain didn't put one out.

Maybe their contract expired or something? I've no idea how the inner workings of mook licensing/publishing go in Japan... I wouldn't mind seeing it, myself...

It's better...had a number of matches with minimal lag!

Unfortunately, I also had some awful lag-fests like before. In fact, the first match I played post-patch was the worst one yet. :/

But it really IS better overall. You can actually have GOOD matches with yellow bar players now.

WOOT WOOT

I have seen the light and it is Version 1.02

I had a couple of dropouts with red connections but other than that it's silky smooth now.

I did notice on a red match that in place of on screen lag there was input lag and if it started to really go south some of the choppiness would return.

Not a single problem with yellow connections though.

Goro is a fucking BEAST now that I can actually time shit. :buttrock:

I wonder if I have to delete my previous 1.01 update?

I didn't but it wouldn't hurt to try.

The 1.02 is only 13 MB.

I don't know how online character voices are supposed to be but I had it set to JP and now it's the English dub...one of the ways they cut down on lag I guess?

This could be my fault as I own the japanese version of the game.

Yeah I don't know how the US patch would work with that.

I wonder if they're even going to patch the JP version as it works fine online there (according to hanafuda anyway).

I'm guessing they won't as it was Ignition that pushed the patch through mostly.

So were there any UI chanes or was it strictly a lag patch?

and did I understand correctly that we're going to be forced to have the awful english voices? I'd rather take my chances with the lag.

I haven't checked my settings since the patch so it might have just reset them.

AFAIK it's just a network/Raiden glitch patch.

Maybe LWK can test the Chin ultimate and see if it's been fixed as well.

I'll download this, we've waited a long time. I hear good things, but lets see how it runs. I'll prolly challenge one of you dudes. I'm more concerned with matches out of state currently, but if its possible to actually have matches with japan players, thats gonna be awesome.

When I go into a match, I'm promptly sent back to the lobby with the opponent. Wish I could get some games in right now. But after d/l PS3 update 3.00, I'm unable to sign in to the network. Probably overhauling it for the new update.

That's probably why then.

I found out that when I got kicked earlier it was because my opponent hadn't DL'd the patch yet...you'll be in the same boat until you can update. Sorry man.

It resets them. If you have the 'replay save' prompt turned off, you'll have to turn that off again in the game options (page 3). The language switches back to English, but I changed that right away, and if you changed your hud position you'll also want to change that to your liking as well (I think 'arcade' looks better).

Played a few matches with yellow connections. So far so good, there might have been a little lag, but it wasn't bad at all.

The Japanese disc is exactly the same. There's no difference in patches across regions.

So I take it they added no search options to restrict the region?

Honestly, I don't know what to make of this update. I have a match with no problems, then a rematch with all kinds of trouble. Too much input lag and frame skips. I'm left wondering if it was worth the wait. Of course, I'll give it another shot. Not going throw in the towel yet.

LWK, I sure our past matches were a hell of alot faster than tonights. Especially that last one, LOL!
