great story bro.

and btw.
I'd rather have people not buy it,
you know.
so playmore could maybe succumb to market pressure and put out a real game.
you know.
instead of putting out an unfinished game.
I really don't have a problem with anyone putting in their complaints to ignition.
but these kids don't need to act like ignition will be the ones fixing the problem.
expect it fixed in the complete kof game 2 years from now.

how's that post?
is that annoying?
how about this.
at least I don't live in new jersey.
or how about, would you like a tissue while you hold back your tears while you whine?
come on.
I have all day son.

They will wise up once the new game high dies down.

i just played someone across town on the same isp.

the lag made it wholly unfun and unplayable.

offline multiplayer is currently the only way to play this game, and its excellent.

i could see totally hating this game if you have no one to play it with offline. the ai is crap, no boss, 5 stages, 22 guys, online is unplayable, etc.

but offline with a friend its perfect. maybe thats why the game didnt get such harsh criticism when it was in the arcades as thats pretty much the only way to play it.

IT'S COOL STORY BRO

Gawd, you even fuck that up.

The game plays great, that's all I fucking care about.

Yeah, LWK found some bugs but I haven't encountered a single one. Even with online lag the matches were fair...I've had my ass kicked by Clark plenty of times, two moves or twenty.

Why are you judging the game on what's not in it? Aside from the netcode problems what's on the disc is fucking aces.

I've had BlazBlue since launch and I've been playing SFIV all day, yet I keep coming back to KOF XII because of the nearly rock solid gameplay.

Go play the fucking game, BRO

If SNKP can't fix the online lag problems, it'll be pretty inexcusable, especially when games like Blazblue, SF4, and VF 5 have playable to near-perfect online play.

Jesus fucking christ give them some time.

I had BlazBlue on day one and that game was a fucking slideshow...it took them a couple of days to get things sorted out.

BB has had a month of netcode tweaking, SFIV has had several months, and VF5 (which is what I assume you meant) has had a couple of years.

Remember, this is the first launch of the home console version anywhere in the world. It's not like they had a shitload of time after the JP launch to tweak it for us. We're the guinea pigs and it'll take a while to get everything sorted out.

Fucking crybabies, go play SFIV and get off my interwebz.

Rare man, i'm telling you, put time in and you will dig this game for the most part. I hate like fucking everything, you know me.

Also, comparing it to KOF 98 is completely ridiculous because that game is untouchable. See it as a new start really. It'll never have 98's depth, but as it stands, the game is really not bad IMO.

Andy, Terry and Joe are just fucking awesome, I can't help it. I love the way andy plays especially. He feels very FFS to me, and I adore that game.

1up reviewed the game and gave it a C.

Failry good review from a guy who seems to play KOF regularly. It goes through all the important parts and covers the good and bad things in the game.

if this was the only game snk has ever made that was online i wouldnt be disappointed (as much.)

but 02, 03, and svc chaos were perfectly fine. much better than the standard of the time which was cvs2. and then you had maximum impact which had a great online system, tons of features, scheduling tournaments and shit...why isnt that in their own next gen game?

I'm going to be playing it this weekend hopefully at a friends house.
but I really can't see why people are defending this game.
it looks great. but that's not excuse to take out half of what used to be kof before.
much less any fighting game.
I'm sure I'm looking bitter, but I'm more or less disappointed by this.
I don't know who the hell all these other idiots are, but I'm an SNK fan.
playmore has been putting out crap.
I'm not exaggerating.

NEOGEO Battle Colosseum
kof 11
Slug 6.
sam sho 6 (with my favorite character andrew jackson)
xbox live rereleases.
and a bunch of compilations that should have come out 10 years ago.

they don't have a great track record.
they might have had one or two good games.
but when you boil down what they've been doing,
it's just been pretty damn disappointing being an SNK fan.
and even if this is some awesome game, then come on.
it's still incomplete.
now who's going to sit here and tell me that playmore isn't just taking advantage of the
fan base and putting out something totally not done.
capcom totally reinvented the sf4 series and released in arcades
with zangeif with a vengeance.
people were happy, but then they release the game at home with a heavy roster, online play,
plus zangief with a vengeance?
wow.
that's reason enough to buy it.
while SNK totally redoes the sprites, something they've been needing to do for about 7 years.
releases it in arcades and pretty much puts out the same plus two characters that
about nobody cares about. (+laggy online)
:golf clap:

I'm sure the game plays fine.
but everyone here pretending that playmore is putting out anything worth 60 bucks are
lying to themselves.
I'm sure they'll have a quality product, when they release the championship edition.
but what they released won't sell to anyone
but hardcore (SNK) fighting fans.
this will hit bargain bins in two months.
promise.

LWK, I'll let you know what I think of the game, but it's not going to change anything
I just said up above.

Which is why I said IF SNKP can't fix the online problems. And if I'm not mistaken BB had a patch released a day after the game came out that fixed almost all online problems.

Wow rare, I'm pretty surprised how worked up you are about this game. I'm not gonna try to change your mind. If you can look past that it's not as robust as previous KOFs, there's plenty of good game to be had. I also think that SNKP doesn't have nearly the resources as Capcom to put out a revamped series.

Anyway, everyone do yourself a favor and pick Andy and go into practice mode. Just press down on the joystick and watch his animation. I'm totally mesmerized by it.

You realize the developers at SNKP get ZERO dollars when you buy a game USED?

Pay the extra 5 fucking dollars and buy a new copy!

Never buy used games in the first couple months of release, especially if you like the game. Your not helping secure the future of the franchise at all, you're just keeping slimy shit stores like Gamestop in business.

i bought it for 45 . i found it at my local gamestop. i felt like from the preview, the game did not justify the price so i waited for a bargain on it..and after owning it fora day, it was well worth my 45

Been playing the game since last Friday and i'm still loving it. Been a fan of the series for a long time and all the complaints i've been hearing i can justify but i still find it enjoyable on a playing level. The Arcade Mode is redundant i know. Only having four or five stages gets old fast. I usually retry the stage on purpose just to extend the single player experience. How sad is that.

Like most, I really wished they could have added a boss(Adelheid, Rugal or Geese even) character or two. I would have taken that feature over a storyline. Actually would have prefered they nixed those cutscenes and added pre-fight intros instead.

We demoed the game on a LED TV at work today(which looked great btw) and most of my co-workers are Pro-SFIV and BlazBlue so a lot of them didn't think too much of it. Most said that they were disappointed with the graphics mainly cause it didn't look like SFIV. One didn't like how the sprites looked and thought they were too weird looking. Some even thought it was a PS2 game. I tried defending it by saying everything is hand drawn and a lot of care went into making the characters but a lot were sticking by the other two recent fighting games. Oh well.

I'll add that i played KoF98 MVS and PS2 XI earlier today and those games felt weird after playing XII for some reason. You can tell a big difference in the sprites and animation of course. XI actually felt slower for some reason and that game i know is fast paced. Anyway, I still have love for those two games.

Btw, has anyone encountered slowdown in the Dome stage in single player Arcade Mode when the Filter is set to 1, 2, or 3 in System Settings?

the posts on this thread are scaring me. i cant believe that SNK fucked up again, please no. this was supposed to be their strongest title since (maybe) Slug 3. they had all the time in the world for Kof XII and in the end they release an incomplete game. this fucking hurts. I can live with Samurai Shodown 6 or Slug 6 or Battle Colosseum but this is just to much to handle.
the game will release in Europe in August, i´ll buy it anyway and then i´ll check for myself.but i guess i know whats coming.shit.i hate to love SNK.

heh, i just caught that. i'm a fan of irony- but c'mon snkp. i'm not gonna hate because i knew full well what i was in for after playing this for months at university pinball.

i am not gonna defend snkp or bash rarehero, because much of what he is saying is on point; however, i will say with new type2x kits going for THOUSANDS of dollars getting home ports of games for 60usd is a bargain.

there are so many clues that the game is unfinished...a 'R' stamped invite in the opening cinema, yet no boss? i hold out hope for an addendum disc or DLC.

what they did manage to get finished is hella fun. bitch all you want about no story...guess that doesn't phase me as RB2 is my favorite neo*geo fighter and there is no story there either.

I think this game is going to come and go. With the release of Marvel vs Capcom 2 on XBLA today and the PSN version week away. This game will see less play. Of course, this is from a competitive gamer's point of view. It will see alot causal play, but with MvC2 back, Who knows......
