Why does KOF XII suck so much? (Was "So KOF XII is delayed?")

you can roll in kof.

i dont understand when people complain about losing to someone who uses the same move over and over. if you cant figure out how to get around it then you kind of deserve to lose.

Not when they have host advantage.

Again, I don't normally whine because I'm with you: if you lose to a spamming bastard you didn't play correctly.

HOWEVER, this asshole was sending fireballs faster than the normal animation/charge time allows. I know what it takes since I use Ash a lot as a sub.

It was ridiculous; by the time I rolled out of the way of the first fireball the fucker would already have one haflway across the screen ready to hit me when I got back up. :oh_no:

I haven't been that pissed at a match in a looooooooong time.

im surprised of all the projectiles it would be a charge one that gets abused.

reminds me of guile in cvs2 eo. haha.

everyone's complaints about whats missing are fairly accurate but the game is so good it doesnt matter.

something about the limited roster is pretty interesting in that im trying out characters i never really used before.

Not only do you have evasive rolls, but with Deadlock, you can negate fireballs. All special moves are considered "Heavy Attacks" no matter what button they use. So you can simply punch it with a heavy attack button (HP). This is similar to focusing a projectile in SFIV, except you take no damage at all, not even temporary damage that replenishes. Out of that, you can dash to gain some ground and move on from there. With all the different jumps in KoF, you can really mix things up after getting in a little closer.

I believe you can also do special moves to negate projectiles, but I'm not playing it yet, so I'm not sure how that works. I know some moves have Auto Guard too, sort of like Balrog's EX Dash Punches for example.

Once people learn the game, projectile spamming shouldn't be an issue.

EDIT: Well, lag. Yeah, you can't do much about that.

Be sure to delete your game data if you installed the game before the patch, other wise it ends up being 1200MG.

I hope they release a downloadable soundtrack to this. I don't quite know why, but the France stage music brings out the best in me.

I switched to a LAN connection instead of my WAN and it helped a lot with the lag.

Also, Kyo is a fucking beast.

Don't you mean WLAN?

lol whatever, I'm a software developer. Never could stand networking...took the one required course and got out.

I guess that's what I get for trying to remember terminology. :tickled: :emb:

From playing online with this post patch, I'll say that most if not all of the lag is on the user end now. On my setup a yellow connection plays perfectly while a red connection has slight lag.

I'm really feeling the vibe of this game now. Command rolls are a little hard to pull of online (especially with lag), but the :back::B::D: guard-then-counter move is beastly once you get the timing. I love how you can almost never whiff it...even if you don't guard against anything it'll count as a normal blowback attack. :buttrock:

Somebody confirm that my math is right...

To beat arcade mode in under 3 minutes and 30 seconds, you would have to beat every single character in <14 seconds.

Yeah. That's not happening for me.

Yeah. Seconds per stage: 42. Seconds per round: 14.

There are some cheap tactics being suggested that seem to work though.

1) With Raiden, just keep doing combos into Head Crush. If you get the computer in the corner, just do his more devastating corner combos.

2) With Leona, Jump-in while charging , crouching :C:, :C:, + :C:. Rinse and repeat.

who would expect solid connection speeds using wireless?:conf::conf::conf:

My PS3 is connected to a wireless N hub and I always get great blue bar connections. I'm kind of cheating.

This game is really laggy. I rarely get lag on SFIV. Rarely.

This makes me wonder if there will be another patch for the ps3 tomorrow or not. Kotaku just trolls the internet, and it's obvious they aren't big fighting game fans, so I will take this with a grain of salt. I had some horrible lag today, so maybe the patch today (772MB) was just for the mandatory install and not the patch to improve the lag?

I think they're just regurgitating last week's news like they always do.

The original press release said Tuesday but I'm guessing that Ignition released it early to ease early buyers a little bit.
