Viewpoint is fucking brutal, finally got to the 3rd level on a single credit but i think it’s going to be a long time before i can 1cc it.
The truth is that viewpoint is quite difficult.

I dont care, I'll say it.
Blues Journey
Granted, I've never played this game with any amount of repetition or patience. There's a lot of cheap hits.

Sonic Wings 3, killer soundtrack but hellish difficulty. I also played a lot of Viewpoint and i can make it to lvl 3 but that's about it, also killer soundtrack.

No matter how much they say that with practice the difficulty disappears, apart from being seen isometric, bullets come out at you when you least expect it.

For me it's also Viewpoint. As difficult as it is cool.

Having played all Neo Geo games, I can confidently say:

Riding Hero
Ninja Combat
Crossed Swords
The Super Spy
Joy Joy Kid (120 stages)
Ghost Pilots
Ashita no Joe Densetsu
Sonic Wings 2 (2 loops)
Strikers 1945 Plus (2 loops)
Magical Drop III (if you have +300.000 pts)

If you're playing SW3 on European difficulty, it's tuned differently than US or JPN. On US or JPN region, even on difficulty level 8, SW3 is very much in line with the second game in terms of overall difficulty. This might be the issue you're running into. If you're playing on a console/MVS with a Unibios, it defaults to European I believe, so you'd need to change the region to US or JPN manually. Quite a fun game once you overcome this little quirk. Not sure if this is a weird region glitch or what, but the EU code makes the game nigh impossible. I made a video about this a few years back.

For me, Pulstar. The graphics and sound are excellent - That doesn't save the game from being a boring slog of a run with one of the worst checkpoint systems I've countered in a shmup along with poor powerup placement. Beatable, yes, but who on earth has that amount of time or patience? It's not impossible, sure, I've tried countless times and I just can't jive with it.

Don’t even get me started on Samurai Shodown II. It’s like the AI is psychic, pulling counters out of thin air. Every match feels like a chess game where the CPU's five moves ahead

Art of fighting 2. It's just not fun. They should plop the characters into the Kizuna engine.

Riding Hero as it just sucks so I haven't attempted to play it in like 7 years.

My brother and I just credit-fed Viewpoint with 2-player simultaneous in MVS mode just so we'd have footage for a future video. We got to see the ending. It was hard as hell. It's hard to imagine doing all the phases of the end boss on one life.

Art of Fighting 2. For me that's the top one because it's the game I want to enjoy the most.

The AI is so buck fusted that it's just an exercise in super cheap exploitation to stand a chance at winning the game rather than playing it in any natural way, and good luck with that if you don't know how. Even if you do pull it off, you feel like you've just beaten the broken code, not the game, if that makes any sense.

I wish someone would make a ROM hack of it that fixes it.

The art of fighting 2 compared to viewpoint is easy.

Art of Fighting 2 is fun. Tough but practically fair. The first AOF for sure is fair.

AOF 2 is about as fair as me playing 1 on 1 basketball against prime Michael Jordan.

Why all the AOF hate?

I'm currently playing AOF for my next Youtube video. The thing that strikes me compared to most of the Neo Geo games I've done videos on so far is that the quality level of the art and design are through the roof when compared to previous games (say The Super Spy or Cyber-Lip or something). It is difficult, but it's really fun to play. My basic strategy of unloading my meter as projectiles and then defending while waiting for my chance to pummel them with jump kicks and sweeps seems to work for the most part -- At least I'm able to force my way through the 1-player game using a lot of continues.

AOF2 is more unfair for sure, but I still have mostly fond memories of trying to beat the CPU. It's just again so nice-looking and the controls feel good.

For me its Magician Lord. I can barely get past the 2nd level, but even when I just quarter spam it, I get lost in some of the levels and so at some point that weird monster with the arms comes and murders me.
