Which game sums up the NeoGeo experience?

Which game is the most "neo geo" on AES and which one for the big red.

Let's bring this topic once again here

For me, AES is more geared toward the one-player experience, so platformers and action games work best on this format.

Classic AES - Magician Lord
Best AES - Metal Slug

Opposite of AES, I believe MVS thrives on two-player competition, so vs. fighters really sum up what the platform is all about.

Classic MVS - Fatal Fury Special
Best MVS - King of Fighters 98 or MOTW

Never played a AES. For me my fondest memories are playing a 4 slot in "t-Zone" while I waited for the mass transit to show up. Pumped I dont know how many quarters into that machine! If I remember right the line up was metal slug (1) and samuri shodown.

I also never had the pleasure of dancing with the AES.

For the Big Red I'd have to say one of the fighters even though they wern't my original introduction. If I'd have to pick something more specific I'll probably go with a Samurai Shodown (and reserve the right to change my mind).

I have spent YEARS on MAME with Neo-Geo and its what made me decide to actually buy an AES (See, Emulation can get folks to buy the games/hardware!).....but I got to say...I love me some Samurai Shodown....I remember when I was younger, going to a Pizza Hut with my aunt, my brother and a couple cousins and while we waited, they had a MVS cab in there.....I had no idea what the game was (it wasn't until later I found out it was Samurai Shodown)....but I just know I liked it.....I remember telling my brother about it and he played me in a couple rounds, then my cousin joined in......so that was the VERY first MVS experience I had.......

On the Neo-Geo AES, I remember a rich kid across the street from me that had a Neo-Geo AES (he had arcade cabs in his room, no MVS though)....i'm talking 1990 here, when it first came out....the only game system I had really played at that time was Atari and NES.....so just imagine my reaction when he pulled out that HUGE cartridge of NAM-1975!! That was my first AES Experience and ever since then...I have been after one! I'm not big on eBay but I found a local used game store that sells Neo-Geo AES hardware and games! I bought my own AES and I currently only have Fatal Fury Special....i'm trying to save the money to get an MVS Magic Key and the 161-in-1 multicart to keep me busy for awhile then i'll get into getting more carts.....so I will have to say my selections would be the following:

AES: NAM-1975

MVS: Samurai Shodown

The Neo-Geo *IS* fighters....but they have some awesome games in pretty much every category...I had a blast (no pun intended) playing some Neo Bomberman on my MAME emulator earlier!!

Yes I can: It's an MVS.

Just pick some carts from the short list (FSS, KoF '94~'98, SS2 or SS4, BAM, AF2, KOM, or a Slug 1~3) and put them into Slots 1 and 2 (or 3~6 if you've got 'em) and I'm a happy camper.

As much as I like some other popular titles (like STRIKERS and NTM); only a combination of games, played in rotation, can sum up the NEO experience to me.

The Neo-Geo is as every bit (24 exactly) a drama factory as it is game machine. The OP didn't specify what kind of experience we get out of it.
