Are there any good online sellers of used and NOS TG16/Duo hardware and software. I’m aware of TZD.com. Unfortunately, it appears that the numbers of items they have in stock has greatly decreased over the years. I’ve spent quite a bit of time looking on eBay….but most of the TG16 systems for sale look like $%!#. I wanted to get a Turbo Grafx 16 or a Turbo Duo when my parents got me a Genesis for Christmas back when I was a kid….the Genesis was much easier to find games for. So I’m thinking about collecting TG16/Duo hardware and software and need a good reputable online source. Thanks for the help!

From everything I've read here, I'd hit up D-Lite.
He always seems to have some cool TG-Duo modded consoles for sale.

I have a second question. Is getting a TG16 modded really worth it. I know that AES systems look a lot better with S-Video....but will it help a TG16 or a Duo or is it a waste of money.

If you're looking for software 16-Bit/Carlson usually carries stuff @ his Ebay store accessible through MAD-GEAR.COM and good ole' Matt Boehland is liquidating the last of his stock over at Wolf Games.Com as he's pulling out of the seller's market according to his website, but I've dealt with him in the past and he's a good guy.

hope that helps you a bit.

Yep, both sellers get a big thumbs up from me. Dealt with each one several times in the past.

Agreed both are pretty good when it comes to, the PCE stuff.

It's a shame though Matt getting out of the.... market.
He was one of the few ppl left that is decent on used import games :(

I just emailed 16 bit about more Duos. He doesn't. Right now all he has is a few Supergrafx systems and a Core Grafx. I know, even though my XBox got modded by Omnedon so I can play my Dracula X, I'm now a much bigger desperado for getting another Turbo Duo after being shot down on behalf of someone else when I was so close to getting a mint Duo R for cheap after calling it first, and was just getting ready to do the final step: PAY for it.

EDIT:
One question though, I wonder how much one of D-Lites RCA modded Duos would be with just an A/C power supply. I already got RCA cables and a Japanese Duo controller.

I was able to get a brand new duo off of ebay last year for $300.00. There are usually a few really nice duos on ebay every month. I'm not sure how big Game X Change is or if there is 1 near you but they were selling new old stock TG-16 systems just a few months ago in my area. Also if you or anybody else is looking for a brand new turboexpress for $130.00 (shipped) in the U.S. then ask about it here <btgarner@gmail.com>. You will first have to join the list (free) then you can order 1. By the way I was able to pick up a supersystem 3.0 card for only $15.00 at a local Slackers! So if you end up buying a turbographx-16 you can upgrade it if you buy this card.

Neo Ash, I forgot to mention, and I urge you to read up. when you're Duo hunting man, make a WISE decision when condition comes into play. There is a common widespread problem in the sound output in Duos, the sound flickering on and off. Just so happens the A/V jack is located directly next to the Duo's heating system. And that's not good. I advise you to go to D-Lite if you ever get your hands on a Duo and that happens to you. He'll put some A/V mounts on it, which is far away from the heat the system emits, or have him install a fan to keep it cool.

That problem was one of the leading causes my Duo failed. I tried to get someone to fix it, but it made it worse, and he offered to mod my XBox to make it up as a trade. So now he has my Duo for parts.

Yes it is, I bought a NOS Duo from teleagames US back in 99. The stock AV out put of the system is %&*#, so a AV and S-Video would greatly help. D-Lite is the only person period who has the balls enough to mod the PC Engine line.

Brand new TG-16 system isn't that hard to find.
Normally it'll only cost you around $50 - $70.

NOS Duo is nearly impossible to find nowadays. I still remember it used to sell around $199 - $299 couple years ago.

My JPN Duo has sound problem and it still plays well with sound on-and-off sometimes.

I still have my US Duo and JPN Duo-Rx in hand so I'm pretty safe now  :D

About Duo systems and NOS status. Please note folks that a Duo is not new unless it is shrinkwrapped. At least most of the later Duo systems were. It is not truly new otherwise.

Also, buy a Duo-R or Duo-RX. This is what you want. The US Duo and JP Duo seem to have the audio problems much more frequently that the R or RX. I still haven't had the time to work on the audio fix although I think I know the problem. Hopefully some day (soon).

A few other people do the region mods on Turbo systems including Devilman78. Not aware of anyone else doing S-Video though ;) I do very few of them right now because of the time involved and the parts that it takes. A real pain in the ass.

Duo-R or Duo-RX????

Thanks for the replies. Thanks for the info D-Lite....most people don't know that the systems came shrink-wrapped. However, I was unaware that some did not come shrink-wrapped.

I'm not sure what the difference is between the Duo-R and the Duo-RX??? Which one should I look for?

The difference is the pad, that's all. The RX comes with the 6-button pad.

Only the Duo-RX comes with a 6-button pad. You can buy aftermarket 3- and 6-button pads though

I would, I bought some a couple of years ago and they are a 1000000000 better than the standard controller. Also the Duo RX controller sucks the balls compared to the Avenue 6 controller.

Should I buy the Ys Book 1 & 2 CD RPG
from them too. It doesn't say import
though & it is an English version for a
good low price because I have part 3
on the SNES. The Ys Book 1 & 2 CD
says Turbo Grafx on it. :kekeke:
