It would be interesting to know how Eolith got involved with KOF. I assume SNK just weren't really able to make the games themselves those years, but there was still a huge demand for them so there were connections with Korea, and somehow someone got the two parties connected. I wonder if Eolith would have had to contract the staff members in Japan directly themselves. I would think it was really the publishing duties that were outsourced to Korea -- You can see that the MVS carts for 2001 and 2002 are non-standard, though 2002 is marked as made in Japan.

If I were a company in Korea trying to make a new game in an existing series, then it would make sense to just hire the existing people who worked on it previously, as long as they're available. That's not what Mega did with Metal Slug 4.

I have many memories of playing on arcade machines but when I saw the AOF zoom on the Neogeo and seeing the faces deformed as they hit each other and the sound of the hits that seemed to really hurt was another world and above all little by little when I was getting to know the different Neogeo games.

All my NGPC stuff. It was an amazing time for me finally being able to buy something SNK related in an actual store downtown. Even then NGPC games were priced cheaply at 35 euros or something it meant I could get one every couple of months. I also "forced" several friends to buy one and we would play link up R2 during lunch in highschool. I was sad that it all ended so suddenly. But I still had great time later on picking up those super cheap loose carts like Faselei!

Getting back homecarts of Slug 2 & Blazing Star are absolutely my favorite pieces. Especially after selling my whole homecart collection back in late '16. Never thought I would ever have them again.

Dude, getting Slug 2 and Blazing Star back is f***ing amazing. Selling your whole collection back in ’16 must’ve hurt like hell, but damn, you’ve got the heavy hitters again.

Those two are absolute gold. Hold onto them this time

The phone card that came with my copy of KOF ‘99. Sometimes I pretend Fio is my girlfriend and she lives in Japan and I use the card to call her.

Garou Mark of the Wolves MVS cart. It was the first cart I purchased when i joined this forum and my favourite game on the console.

When I started I wanted to get a full-set and got to about 80 carts, but lost interest and ended up downsizing over the years. Now all I got left is Garou, Metal Slug X and Metal Slug 3.

Lets be honest those three are part of a small set of what matters.
