I just used the media link as an abstract to the study in case you were interested.

Actually, It is a study by Devah Pager, currently of Harvard University.

The study was done when she was at Northwestern and appeared in the "American Journal of Sociology"
http://www.jstor.org/stable/10.1086/374403

In 2007, it appeared in the book "Marked: Race, Crime, and Finding Work in an Era of Mass Incarceration (University of Chicago Press, 2007)."

No offense man...but I don't give a good god damn what a college professor writes about.

I care about what I see with my own eyes in my own world.

I get to go to a mandatory pre bid for a 100+ million dollar renovation at the University of Illinois and I watch a minority man stand up in front of a room full of contractors and openly make threats telling us what will happen to us if we do not give 10% of our materials and 10% of our labor to a minority owned business and minority employees (which we have to bring in out of state if our books are cleaned of minorities) then, after the meeting get escorted out of the room so the minorities represented can have a special meeting...I get to see "affirmative action" first hand. (This is just one recent example of the MANY times I've ran across this kind of legal blackmail)

Last I checked, I saw no Harvard professor present at meetings of this nature.

I also do not see them present when I have to pass on a better qualified applicant to our apprenticeship to meet a minority ratio...

In other words...I do not give a good fuck what other people claim "what is"...I can tell them "what is" just fine...I have to see it every day and represent a tiny portion of what the government has their fingers in.

That study is just like a vast majority of what social annalists and college professors claim to know, it is mostly bullshit.

You still have it.

:D

As for mainman, I just can't tonight. Not nearly bored enough, maybe next week.

This case honestly reminds me of the Duke Lacrosse case. Misinformation and hysteria leading to premature damnation by hordes of white over-privileged slobbering vaginas. LOL Nifong, nice job bro, way to follow to think for yourself.

Yes...jackass...10% of 169 MILLION dollars, and this is just one project of thousands of this type.

Tax payer dollars being forced to certain companies based soley on ther color of their skin. Yes, this is fucking absurd. Fuck qualifications, fuck quality of work. No, let's award 10% of ONE HUNDRED, SIXTY NINE MILLION montherfucking dollars to a company based simply on the skin color of the person that owns the company doing the work.

Yes...this is a fucking joke. Yes, this is the absolute stupidity of this government...yes, this is my point.

...but keep posting studies of college professors while I keep bringin up real racism and using actual, factual accounts of it.

no chance you'd be in more danger encountering the policemen if this is your bro your hangin with right?

of course saying people with neck tats aren't upstanding is stereotyping too though isn't it?

based solely on that isn't a reason to get shot, but with your buddy having a skull on his neck you better know not to make even the slightest fucking action you aren't told to.

edit:are those teardrop tats too? don't those have some sort of meaning?

I could also add my own personal experiences and observations, but it wouldn't be objective.

Oh…I'd say you pretty much kill the "objective" part by posting "objective" things others say…that you just happen to agree with.

There is zero "clean" information on this absurd subject...

the problem here dude, is that none of the people on this forum come from real fucking jobs. i worked plenty of construction, factory work etc. and still in an aspect do work factory work.. its just an absolute necessary product for life sustainability that we produce at this "factory" i now pour my life into. the fact that you are trying to explain the things you have learned working a real job seeing the reality of what takes place in an environment where HR doesnt have everyones mouth sewn shut and word gets around quick if it isnt already in plain site to begin with isnt going to get you anywhere with the 90 percentile neckbeard cubicle dwelling fucktard population that occupies this forum. i guess what im saying is save your breath? i know i do, because ultimately it isnt worth a fucking thing except maybe twistable evidence if someone here decides they hate you and want to ruin your real world life with things you vent about online.

I came here to read everyone's reaction to the video of the second cop shooting in the area and instead it's the norton and smokehouse show, with some max rant thrown in for good measure.

Sad..

I feel like they jumped the gun on this one.

But Jesus fucking Christ, you can't just pull out a knife and start making moves toward a cop. Seems like the guy wanted to die.

The interesting thing about the second video is that it doesn't exactly match up with the original description provided by police.

Apparently they were telling him to stop and drop the knife or whatever, and he was telling them to shoot him.

Likely suicide by police, but a little police restraint goes a long ways.
Much like Micheal Brown.

I forgot about my favorite part, the guy that was sorta standing behind the knife wielder.

Protip: Never stand behind anyone that's physically threatening an armed police officer.

Awesome. And the camera man actually moves left, into the line of fire, when the police draw their guns.

Except in the 2nd case the guy DIDN'T bum rush the cop and DIDN'T crack the guy's skull.

Details, details.

Seems like the public opinion of both of these cases was completely off the mark. I guess I'll have to continue to think for myself ... how annoying.
