Following the recent trend of creating retarded threads I hereby present to you my contribution:
What was the 1st metal object thing you put in your microwave oven?

So, what was the 1st metal object thing you put in your microwave oven?

Mine was a plastic icecream container jampacked with delicious chocolate-chip icecream that I managed to 'over-freeze' so it was harder than rock. 'So what? Where is the metal in icecream, you fag?' you might ask. Well, for starters the seal of this particular icecream was made of foil and pieces of foil residue was left on the container. Second: I LEFT A SPOON IN THERE.

So, I set it on full effect (hell, I was only 9 and this was on the 5th day we got his thing) and 2 mins.

BZzZZZzzzZZZzZT BzZZzZzZzzZZT!!!

Lots of sparks and crap but I managed to shut it down (pull cord) and everything was fine and dandy again. The icecream tasted crap though, as it had somehow acumulated meat flavor over the days it had been in the freezer lidless.

Your turn, plz

I think everyone has accidentally put SOMETHING with a foil lining in a microwave.

And from what I gather...that's the thing you have to worry about. Supposedly if you leave a fork or a spoon in, it won't be a big problem, but foil will cause problems.

*shrug*, so I hear, I haven't tried it out.

Althought I have tried grapes and they spark.

Same with me, the foil thing was an accident with a container of peanut butter.

BUT....

By far the best thing I have ever nuked would have to be... a CD! Next time you get one of those anoying CD's from AOL, cook it up for about 4-6 seconds in the microwave. All I gots to say is Lightnint Storm!!! And if you do that a few times and start to get ambitious, throw 4 or 5 of the discs on top of each other in the microwave, for the same 4-6 seconds.

I had a foil card that got wet.. so what better way than to dry it than put it in the microwave. I saw sparks and immediately took it out. I was probably in the 3rd grade. Never happened again.

I put CDR discs in on occasion. It's fun!

Seriously! Put a CDR in your microwave for 2-3 seconds. It's damn cool. :)

That's about the only interesting item I've ever put in, but I remember years ago our next door neighbors tried to thaw a frozen bag of milk in their microwave. lol

When I was a kid, I put this cup in the radiation king, but it had "gold trimming" around the top. Haha whooo boy I'm sterile now.

Speaking of sterility and microwaves; one time I did some laundry, but forgot my bag of a certain "herb" in my pants pocket. It all stayed in the bag, but was soaked.

So I spread it out on a plate, put it in the nuker for 30 seconds, and voila!, good as new. Course the apartment smelled nice then.

(...or so I heard.) ;)

chances are really good I'm sterile.

But then again, I'm a robot.

first metal thing put in microwave? a spoon. It did catch fire.

I guess I'll take a moment to try out a CD in the microwave...

I put "Ultimate Mortal Kombat III" for the Saturn in my Microwave because it's shit. It did the electric "Raiden" spark effect which looked like really bad CGI. I stunk the kitchen out bad. I then took it back to the store where I'd just bought it for a trade on Fighting Vipers - they accepted. LOL.

I've made some cool CDR 'artwork' in a few different microwaves, and I have yet to lose one. GO FOR IT! :)

My first was when I put an Arby's wrapper in the microwave to heat up my roast beef. Man was that cool looking when I was a kid. Although it left a bunch of black lightning burn marks. Ahhh ignorance is bliss.

well, i did put foil in there once, left black marks where the foil touched the sides of the microwave, but thats not my best microwave story.

once, when i was young and stupid, put in a bowl of hash-browns. not knowing how long to put them in for, i put the timer on for a really long time, thinking that i would just check every once and a while till they were done.

i then go upstairs and promptly forget about them.

about half an hour later, my sister comes upstairs and says, "what did you do to the microwave!"
i go downstairs and look at the microwave. i can't even see inside of it, cause the thing is full of smoke. smoke is seeping out around the door. power to the thing had cut out, and i thought i had fried it.
i open the door. before the smoke had even cleared, i could see something glowing inside.
the smoke clears, and i can see the bowl. the thing had cracked in half. in the middle of what was left of the bowl, is a black, charred, glowing (in the centre) mass of hash-brown.
the entire inside of the microwave is completely black.
luckily, i managed to get it somewhat clean before my mom got home. she didn't notice until way later that the inside was permanately discoloured. :D

not metal but a funny story.

i was over at my friends house and his brother wanted to warm up some buns so he pulled a few out of the freezer and put the buns in for 5 MINTUES! after about 3 mins we noticed an odd smell and SMOKE RUNNING ACROSS THE CEILING. my friend promptly called his brother an idiot opened the microwave door, grabbed the buns and through them across at the neighbours house. it smelt like crap and there was huge yellow stains from the microwave vent to the Ceiling. what makes this worse is in his house smoke alarm is hooked up to his SECURITY SYSTEM. and before we knew it fire trucks started to appear at his house. all in all he had to pay the fee for the firemen to come to his house and his brother was grounded. The end

Never put anything metal in the microwave by accident...

It IS okay to put metal in there, as long as it's small compared to the full load ( i.e. a spoon in a bowl of stew is okay ).

Foil is a definite no-no ( About 3 microwaves busted at work because of people packing lunch in foil then trying to heat it using the micro ).

Can't you make a Tesla coil effect if you pull them out and stack them next to some foil or something? I'm sure I've seen this done online before.

CDRs work great, too. 2-3 seconds is all you need. :)
