What happened to rimm_rs's SSVS preorder thread?!?

About all this spam discussion, well, I didn't get any e-mail from Ryan, and as I said, I didn't even now about his online store JPN until now. If I remember well when you put your e-mail in the profile you can choose whether to make it visible to any other member or not.

I created a new e-mail account specifically for registering for this site.

I have never used that account for anything else.

I also enabled the 'hide your e-mail address' option in my profile.

But I still got the japangamesnow spam.

Okay, this thread has gone on long enough---I'm sure all of you feel the same way. rimm_rs has been forced to spend hours of his day or days defending himself. There is no need to get rude and mean.

The fact is that he could have, like other businesses do, preordered a set amount. Ex: Preorder 20 carts. Get the discount assigned. List them on his store for whatever price he wants to (profit or no profit). That is what every other business does. And he would still be the good guy. But you see, he would then have to take the risk of selling only 12 and having them left over. He should have just opened a preorder on his own site--not through neo-geo.com. I know many of you didn't know he was the owner of that site. But we did. And once you become a competitor, it kind of changes things. Not that it's makes for a good situation, but it can't be helped. I'm sure other business people could understand that.

I know it sounds silly, but it would have avoided this whole situation. From what I know, there is not another forum site that allows it's competitors on it. Not saying it shouldn't be done, but sounds reasonable from a business aspect.

Will he be allowed to do this again? No. And I know that it upsets those of you getting a better deal. The fact that he was trying to help others is nice. But most of you are not behind the scenes seeing what exactly has gone on from the beginning. If he has good intentions, that's GREAT. Next time he can just follow what every other business does. This is just a lesson learned.

Its pretty gay to try to undersell the host on his own webpage from buying from him Idve never put up with it if I was Shawn .

This whole issue has made me sick to the stomach. A REALLY sad day in the history of this website. Mods, just lock this thread. It is a sad reminder of the childish bickering that is all to frequent these days on this board...

My personal opinion, Shawn should have told Ryan the way he felt when Ryan opened up Japangamesnow. Obviously seeing as Shawn does not seem to be a confrontational person he chose not to. Ryan obviously thought that things were smooth to a certain extent between Shawn & himself.

If this situation had been dealt with earlier on ALL OF THIS could have been avoided. In the end though, I can not blame Shawn for the ban. Whilst I do like Ryan alot and have bought and sold to him over the past year quite a bit as much as I dont like saying it...I think he did take advantage of Shawn's knowledge and reluctance to perhaps come right out and confront him about the spamming, website etc...Also, going to Shawns house and being all nice and so on and then doing what he has done is kind of like stabbing him in the back. As a seller though Ryan is second to none - I would not hesitate to deal with him again and again.

However, whilst I feel Ryan could have handled things differently Shawn for his part should have confronted Ryan about this earlier. I am sure he recieved numerous emails from Ryan since he opened Japangamesnow and his faliure to respond and resolve this issue has helped contribute to this big mess. Yes Shawn is a busy man, but so am I and I am sure many others on this site. Personally I would have "nipped this in the bud" as soon as this saga begun. But to each his own I guess...sometimes silence can cause more trouble than what it is worth.

I have said nothing on this whole debate whether to ban rimm_rs or not as I like to take a more observant presence on these boards ( can be seen by my join date and number of posts) but I think the whole thing is loosing focus now.

I have every right to come down on a person that THINKS that they know what is going on with this situation. I know where ryan gets his stock for JPN from and the neo-geo.com selling forums are not one of them. most of the items he buys from here are for his own collection as upgrades (condition wise).
Droid clearly showed that he has no idea what he is talking about. He tried to bash Ryan for suppossedly being a neo business wannabe but when I presented the fact that ryan has done much more in this industry than most his adge he COMPLETELY dodges the question. In case you havent noticed yet (looks like you are somewhat new here) we all have every right to say what we want to say regarding what a person posts. You will also see that many (if not most) of the people here will post thier half assed opinion, (basically not knowing any details or facts about the issue at hand) just so they can see themselves post.
And don't try to claim that you know just because you might of spoke to a few people who don't like me much. Ryan is a friend of mine, I give the guy no special treatment and i treat him how I would any other person. While i will say that Ryan is not mister perfect (cause no one is) i will say that Shawn most definitely handled this in the wrong way.

I think the mans opinion is his opinion, but he has been in Neo since the beginning. He does know a lot of the back-end workings that most of us dont. He does have senioriority if you will... His opinions are more warrented than lots of other peoples... I am not for or against the man, but I know he has been around for ages...He is like one of those HIGHLANDER guys... I dont talk to him, but I know he has a wealth of knowledge about all Neo happenings.


Lots of these guys that have stayed in neo since the early 90's are like that.

honestly, You are probably right.
To tell you the truth, I am not much of a computer person. I was talking to Ryan yesterday and I told him how hard it was for me to actually make a reply in this thread. For some reason paoting things on thins forum seems very tedious and unforfilling to me. The few times that I can bring myself to do it are when I feel there is something that really should be adressed (like here in this thread when a persons character is being attacked) or when I really need to make a post (tech or general question, selling, eyc.
My life right now has been so busy and hectic that those moments where i need to /can post are few and far between. while many here may think that i can spare hours a day on this forum i most definitely can't. over the past month or two I haven't even been able to access a computer much.
It's all really hard for me to explain really. some of it is that I find it hard to put my thoughts into words in an online post. I find myself spending too much time on one post cause I feel I am not getting my point across or that my wording is wrong and people may get the wrong meaning from it. also, alot of it is that i am growing older and as bitter sweet as it is many of my interests are changing so my motivation to do much of anthing online is next to nothing. I find it hard to reply to my PM's even.
To sum all the above boring crap up: I am really not a bitter person sitting over a computer hours on end taking my anger out on people on a forum. If I seem to come off that way, I'm sorry. I just find it hard to use the computer much and the few times i do post here it is because I want to address something as far as another persons opinion goes. I do try to post about neo related stuff whenever I can but even with that, I am trying to recondition my 2 slot cab so I can have friends come over an play some games a bit so i figure that playing these games that i own is a better thing to do with my time at hand than talking about them online while they sit there.
I better stop now. sorry if this reply is fragmented or hard to read. Just typing this response has taken me 25 minutes and I have gotten up to stretch and walk around ( I find it stressfull being hunched over this thing) a half a dozen times already.
