What games would you have liked to seen on the Neo Geo Pocket Color?

As I played through a bunch of my Neo Geo Pocket Color games over the weekend, I came to realize that I truly loved this console, but only because it had some truly awesome fighting games and platformers, in other words, the console was a pocket arcade machine, and that made it truly a enjoyable experience. In order for the console to succeed I think it really had to have a good variety of all kinds of genres instead of heavily focused on fighting games, which is what SNK is truly best at, god bless them.

On that note, I still would have loved to see Garou: Mark of the Wolves on the pocket. That game just oozes style out of every pore, another fine example of SNK flair. Would've loved to see a tiny Kevin Rian, arguably the most unusual and coolest looking moves ever. Plus, who wouldn't love to see Rock Howard or Gato on the Neo Geo Pocket Color?

More RPG elements were probably in order. With the long battery life of the Neo Geo Pocket Color, that would have been without a doubt a great boon to the RPG gamer. It didn't seem to lack board games at all, puzzle games were also produced for the console. What would you have liked to see on the Neo Geo Pocket Color.

A Ghouls'n'Ghosts game, they made one for the Wonderswan why not the pocket <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" /> The mini game in MOTM had excellent graphics.

i would have loved to scene a football, like nfl style but not neccesarily NFl teams, i dont know if any of you ever played the jaguar some may say it sucked but i thought it was a great little machine, there was a footbal game for it called brutal football i beleive very cool game to play, or just metal slug 3 or 4 would have been great,

I remember seeing it in a list of upcoming games and ordering my system right the next day. Goodtimes.

Besides Windjammers, I hate to say it but a good 'RPG' would of been damn appreciated. Sacnoth(Who were ex-square employes) was supposed to be the savor of the NGPC rpg-wise but all they came out with were 2, way too short SRPG. I can't say I wasn't dissappointed that their was never a Pokemonisk rpg with KOF characters replacing pokemon.

Was there ever a demographic survey of the consumers that purchased Neo Geo Pocket B/W and Neo Geo Pocket Color Consoles? What about sales figures? I always wanted to know about these things but never knew where to look. Looking at the handheld market, it does seem that the console that stays afloat tend to be the one with the big pockets (i.e. Bandai, Nintendo) and the deluge of titles, irregardless of quality (i.e. Wonderswan, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance). Actually one could also count the big consoles like Atari Jaguar, Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64 into the equation, since they had quality titles but there were fewer overall titles than the reigning competitor at the time. Wonderswan titles do hit the sales chart, but they happen only to be the Final Fantasy series.

Of the announced games, Magician Lord, Windjammers, SNK character race (a kart racer, I assume) and Neo Poke block game (Tetris clone, no doubt) were the ones I would have loved to see.

The Neo Poke really needs a racer. I think an overhead thing like Thrash Rally or Power Drive Rally on the Jaguar would have been excellent given the clicky stick. Here's hoping Thor's Pocket Race develops into something really nice.

Some shooters besides Cotton would have also been great. I'm surprised we didn't get any, as a matter of fact. Twinkle Star Sprites would have been cool, too.

And a nice simple platformer more in the Mario vein rather than Sonic would have been fun. What ever happened to Fuzzy's homebrew version of Fantastic Dizzy?
