What do you think of my original mecha anim?

I made an animation based on an old mech design of mine. What do you think? It took me longer than I thought it would but at least I had a good time :)

It's only 32k- not too bad on the 56k folks (like me)

I love mecha. Neat stuff. Good animation job too.

Needs more rocket pods, though.

A mech isn't a mech unless it's bristling with rocket pods.

Thanks! Those bands on the shoulders open up to reveal missile launchers. At least they did in the original drawing. I like hidden weapons because they promote more streamlined designs but I think most people prefer big guns, missiles, and lasers everywhere.

Cool.

Yep. I just love tons and tons of weaponry, especially rocket pods.

I really dig hand held weapons too. There's nothing as sexy as a mech firing off a forty foot long machine gun with huge watermelon-sized slugs coming out.

That's one of the reasons why I loved Evangelion so much... the scaled up bowie knives, sniper rifles, and machine guns were too cool.

That's pretty awesome looking man. Keep up interesting things like that, and post them here. The creative forum needs it.

Yeah, there isn't a whole lot going on in this part of the forum. That was actually my inspiartion for doing this little anim. My gf went to a movie with some frineds so I thought "why not?".

I think it would be awesome to work on a GBA game like megaman zero- it has some terrific grafix. I started a female character for use in MUGEN a long time ago (like two years ago) but it was just too much of a time commitment. Oh, and I really sucked at the programming aspect so I pretty much gave up.

Anyway, I love pixel art, thus my absolute sove of Metal Slug (except 4, which I consider an abomination). I hope I can inspire myself to do more stuff like this. If I do, then neo-geo.com will be the first to see them.:eye:

Your mech looks pretty badass. I also agree that it seems like it'd belong in a Megaman game.

Eva?... How about Gundam Wing (the Endless Waltz designs)... Heavy Arms Gundam had so much ammunition, it's oozing with coolness!!!...

Get some tech saavy programmers, keep up the good work, and come out with your own new revolutionary game with Mecha-to-end-all-Mecha video games. ;) *Your creation is truly bitchin' man... TOPS in my book. Wish I could do something like that, but I just write subversive and twisted plot lines for books that only the Underground culture knows about (or reads) and treatments for games that will never come out. *What you've got there is some serious talent man. Make another one, keep em' comin!

I used Adobe Image Ready via Photoshop 7 to make and animate the image. It was the first time i had used it and I found it very handy, especially with the folder support available WHILE you are watching the animation and editing it. I used to make all the images in layers and them save them individually, then load them into Animagic. It was tedious and time consuming to get the animation to look good. Image Ready was 10X more efficient.
