What do I do when an eBay seller closes their account before I get the product?

I'm in a tough situtation right now... I reciently purchaed a Metal Slug 3 cartridge off of ebay. The price was very good so I couldn't pass it up. I emailed the buyer asking if he sent the cartridge yet, and 2 days later I get an email responce saying "its on the way". Come to find out, his feedback is magically now private, and his account says no longer a registered user.

Its a good thing I payed with paypal on this one. I smell bullshit, what is a good amount of time that I should wait before I turn up the heat on this one? Here's the auction:

Any suggestions?

You'll probably have to wait 7 days before you can make any kind of claim. I wouldn't really worry, you paid with paypal. Did you use a credit card or paypal funds? Someone else mentioned they had a problem because the seller cleaned out their paypal account so they couldn't get any money back. When I had a problem, I had used my credit card so Paypal just did a reversal.

Bill I just had a problem with a similar purchase, do a paypal dispute right away, you can always end the dispute if you get it, no harm no foul.

With a bit of luck, it's just that he hasn't paid his sellers fees, or something similar.

Best of luck.

Always a tricky situation. Like John says, maybe the seller hasn't paid their fees, but don't you normally have to not pay for 3 months to get banned?

I'd file the claim or get on the phone to Paypal. I've had this happen a few times and always rung them. It always goes in my favour too.
