Yeahhhh. The posts on X haven’t been kind (infinite juggles, strange clipping). I still want to try it, but my low expectations have gotten lower.

I just bought Final Vendetta, Mayhem Brawler, and a HB with the new(ish) Double Dragon, so, it might take a while or a sale to get to NSR.

I beat Shredder's Revenge a whole bunch of times via crossplay with my brother over the last few weeks to see all the endings. I need to get the DLC at some point.

I also credit fed the arcade version of Double Dragon II on Evercade, which was a painful experience. I'm actually looking forward to playing the NES version on NSO now to get that taste out of my mouth.

Yep they pulled it a few months ago. All those Johnny Turbo's Arcade titles were sold in a zero-effort Mame wrapper, but even as shitty and barebones as it was it's still better than Night Slashers Remake.

I recently played the BoR entry called Night Slashers X and it was leagues better than Remake.

I picked up Night Slashers Remake yesterday and hoo boy, it's rough. I mean shockingly rough. I went in knowing it was a low-budget z-tier game but it was a total disappointment even with low expectations. Wonky controls, floaty movement, strange and inconsistent fighting mechanics, all of that on top of the pitiful flash game aesthetics. There's no way the developers didn't know any of these things before they shoved it out the door. It seems like higher difficulties don't even add more enemies, it just increases enemy damage.

Plus the damn thing doesn't even run 60fps. A 2D game in 2024 that runs at 30fps or below is just unacceptable. It's more framey than the first Streets of Rage only with less characters on screen.

Both the original and the Beats of Rage fan game totally wipe the floor with this.

I got it for $4.99 for switch I don’t know if this exists in the original game but I could infinitely punch characters and they wouldn’t die until I stopped punching in NS Remix

Been playing some Shadow Warriors lately (the original 1988 Tecmo arcade game - don't know why they decided to call it both Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Ryukenden).
As difficult (and a bit clunky) as ever, but I still love it. Any other fans here?
