I much prefer the 4-across layout, it makes playing fighters and Metal Slug much easier.

lol at a 2 over 2 layout. Besides CD pads and fucked up Neo conversion cabs, I can't imagine anyone actually wanting a layout like that. At least not on any sticks.

Aside the fake SF 6-button Neo titles (re: SS1, SS2, WHP, KKlash etc) I prefer a 2-over-2. Although, traditionally, SNK opted for a 4-in-a-row button layout, I don't actually find it comfortable to use. It's obviously an acquired skill, but I don't EVER use my ring finger or little finger for gaming. Perhaps someone with musician skills would though?

It's really not to difficult for one to get their head round. For example... do you ever see anyone wire their SF sticks to be 6-buttons in a row? LP, LK, MP, MK, HP, HK? Would seem excessive, but only because (damn) we don't have 6 fingers on the one hand. So 3-over-3 is more acceptable, although theoretically, just as impossible. But, it appears that 3-over-3 is more serviceable > 6-in-a-row. For similar reasons, I prefer 2-over-2, as I find the standard 4-in-a-row just... uncomfortable and not as enjoyable.

Like I mentioned earlier, if I hook up my HRAP to the Neo, the standard button layout maps to 2-over-2, not all that dissimilar to the CD pad. Granted, pads use thumbs > hands & fingers though...
