PS5
Finished
The Adventures of Elliot and got the 'true ending'. They offered a NG+ but there is absolutely no reason to ever return to this game. A one and done and a budget title. Doesn't make it bad. Just means it's not worth a 60 dollar entry point.
Went back to
Berserk and the Band of the Hawk. I was watching someone doing a retrospective on all 3
Berserk video games and the game looked more fun than I remembered when I first played it. It's a
Musou/Dynasty Warriors style game and, yes, eventually it gets just as boring as I remember. The gameplay itself DOES make some effort to translate
some of the look and feel of the 2012 anime trilogy but unfortunately, it revels too much in its own bloodshed to be anything other than the
antithesis of what
Berserk is supposed to be. It gets none of its themes, essence or gravitas but then again, it's a
musou game. It's just there for you to hack and slash, look cool and wreak havoc. Anyone that actually wants to play this game in order to revisit the source material is retarded. Maybe not the best choice for a
musou adaptation, given its serious messaging, but eh...hacking up hundreds of dudes as Guts is still fun. Taken for what it is and in small doses, it won't overstay its welcome. And I remember how much fun it was to go bonkers with Berserker Armor Guts the last time I played through this, but you unlock characters as you progress through the story, which goes all the way up to fighting Ganishka and fleeing the city of Vritannis.
For the record, I consider the Dreamcast game the best of the three overall. The vid I watched had the guy playing an English translation of the PS2 game. I'd like to know how he managed to do that. I didn't know PS2 could be emulated. Then again, I don't really keep up on that sort of thing so if anyone wants to point me to a PC PS2 emulator that has an English translated verson of the PS2
Berserk game, PM me. Send all dick pics to
@SonGohan tho.
PC
Beholgar-Finished this up. A short, fun, punishing 'metroidvaina' that lacks some polish but is charming enough.
Beholgar 2-the graphics get an overhaul and everything moves more smoothly but a lot of the underlying issues, such as stiff controls and awkward character movements and attacks remain. It is basically just
Beholgar with a nip and tuck. Still fun enough for 7 bucks.
Wizardry Variants Daphne-Of course. Not sure this game will ever let me go lol
