People that think DK is actually plain white need to fucken get their act together. If fucking DK is white then I'm black.

Why are people so obsessed with categorizing people? That's part of the problem with the world.

Because it better allows racists and elitists to divide the people of the world based on shallow things like skin color. :glee:

True, I honestly wasn't curious as to what he is, I just alwasy took him for a guy with lots of flavor and everybody knows white folks have no flavor at all.

did his biopic said anything about a trailer park? okay then, he's not white...lol...jk

i always thought DK was white or black depending on the game, kinda like Southkid said...he's both. He's even got two cultures mesh together punk and hip-hop. Plus he's got a duck that follows him around...i wouldn't breathe too much into Japanese character design.

He is just somehow related to Dennis Rodman and Zack from D.O.A.

... nuff said.:loco:

actually in all seriousness, I personally believe that he is supposed to be african american or from somewhere in the caribbean.

Its possible that the drawing that lone sage posted was an american artists rendition of duck king and he/she made a mistake.

by the way where is that picture from?

He's both. Japanese people sometimes tend not to differentiate between the two. We are all the same to them -- foreigners. Black, white, whatever. When I was teaching near Nagoya, I literally had the lady who worked at the corner convenience store (which I visited daily) get confused between myself and a co-worker from Gambia. When I pointed out her mistake, she got all flustered and muttered something. Whatever.

Anyhow, I always thought of Duck as both. Sometimes he is one, sometimes the other. Since they don't care, neither do I.

First off, there were two duck kings.. white duck king and black duck king.

They re-color pallet mobs (monsters) so they can recycle them with out them looking too obviously a like.

Second, you kids must of missed the 80's

Hammer pants were NOT invented by MC Hammer. Punk and Rap were nearly one in the same. Not everything had a genera back then. The styles were the same, the attitude was the same ect... (ultra anti-establishment) things staid like this up until the advent of Run DMC when rappers started trying to "bling bling"everything and the market became super saturated with ultra-consumerism artist.

Punk went off into the other direction (anarchist, i.e. sex pistols) until various sell out bands (Greenday, Blink 182, Sum 41) caused the masses to associate "Punk" with skinny 14yr old fagots with whiny voices who skateboard too much.

Duck King is modeled after the old school early 80's "The Warriors" style street thugs.
