I was playing some DOA Xtreme yesterday (shut up, it and the Xbox were free) and noticed something that sort of supported the whole "one word for foreigner" idea that came up earlier.

Lisa starts the game tanned (like Duck King in Fatal Fury) and ends it black (like Duck King later). There's no differentiation. No healthy white person would have a tan like that (mmm, skin cancer) but the Japanese just seem to see black people as white people with extreme tans. It's ridiculous. It's not even funny.

Ok I don't know why nobody mentioned this yet, but just look at Duck King's hair! No napps at all. He is definatly not black. He could be white, native american, hispanic, but definatly not black. The hair says it all.

Remember the OAVs they did. He was black all the way in that. Then again, it has been years since I have seen it. I like how Cowboy Bebop makes no mistake on race. Mushroom Samba is a good episode to fit that example.

come to think of it, since he's always wearing glasses, he could actually be a pacific islander, rather than balck or white.

he seems to have the body type more suited for that kind of etnicity. And like pacific islanders, he could go from being real dark, to mildly light, duck never had that white/reddish skin tone....
