I have one big doubt, being honest.

I know that the Neo Geo Pocket color was only released in Japan (which makes things easier on ebay) and such... but what about the first one? Is finding an american version of the first Neo Geo Pocket is really that hard? And what about american game releases?

Pocket Color was worldwide.
I bought one in a walmart in 2002. Sucker had seven manuals: each in a different language.

American games are some of the easiest to find really.
They made a boatload of most of them.

All NGPs and Slimlines are the same. You can set the region to USA, EUR, and JPN on any of them. Most game cartridges support all three regions.

that's right, with some minor translation issues but mostly playable... I just gotta say it, NeoGeo Pocket might just be the best handheld console for fighting games IMO.
