I got the game a week or two back, but I haven't had a single decent connection. I hate it cause I've been waiting for so long to play this. I have to stick to offline play, like the old days.

Virtua Fighter avatars are up on PSN, they're free right now if you're a plus member and I think they're a buck otherwise

Seriously? wow, for me this has been the best console fighter I've played online period. I play coast to coast in this game easily! but it can be hard to find a room match or a player match as if a game is in progress you cannot join. But in ranked I find great connection matches super fast if I search worldwide.

do you perhaps have a japanese ps3/360 or japanese account? the location vf5fs searches for games when you select the local feature is tied to your accounts country, so if you have a japanese psn account and you are playing in the us, you will still only find opponents in japan when selecting local. It's a bit problematic for me as it seems there are very very few canadians playing and I am closer to US cities than any other canadian cities anyway.

WTF, you must be "bad luck Brian" or something. I was regularly playing with complexz and we don't even live in the same country and my connection REALLY sucks. He lives on the western coast of Canada and I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and our connections have been great.

here's the full translation of that interview with the DOA5 and VF5FS creators where they talk about the netcode and address the long waits in rooms and such. That timer is a bitch for sure, but if what they say is true and the inability to join rooms in progress contributes to what makes the current netcode so fucking awesome, it's a worth sacrifice to me!

Also if you are playing 1 on 1 with a friend, just meet them in player matches, tell them to meet you in custom matches and you can play and jump into the next match with zero waiting each time.

We need to get some casuals set up for this at EVO then.

I have it on right now, but it's casual matches. I gotta check EventHubs to see if the finals will be streamed on the main page this year.

It's still fucking beyond me why this game doesn't get more love from the "FGC". We've got a well balanced game with a ton of unique and interesting characters. It's easy to get into, but hard to master. I hate how Capcom just throws up these games that are filled with game breaking exploits and people eat it up like candy and people bitch about VF being too boring or too difficult. Fuck em' I say, but I've been saying that since VF1 showed up at Space Plex in 93'.

New Goh combo video! FEAR GOH HINOGAMI!

1:35-1:42 9 hitter...lol, c'mon cuz. If that shit got ran on me in comp, I would just put down my stick, & applaud.

That's goh's round, no matter how much life I had left on the meter.

Can't wait to play this again @ some point...still waiting on my moving truck to arrive. :^\

I saw the Goh video and it's in training mode. Why not a fight against a real opponent?
Anyway, I think I will buy this game.

....it's a combo video... It's purpose is to highlight what's possible with the system and to entertain you, that's it.
