I agree that whoever is running Sega is running it into the ground (for no reason). There are tons of good IPs they can use, but don't... there's tons of great arcade games they can port, but don't... and then there's the fact that they were in the console market and just gave up due to all the stupid decisions they made over the years (who gives up on a console that is GOOD one year into its life?!).
Stupid idiots.
When (not if) this does poorly, they will be like "see, we told you nobody in the US cares about VF." It's not that we don't care, it's that you don't want us to care. You don't give us the material to care. Virtua Fighter blew my mind when the first two came out in the arcades. I thought it was awesome. But then VF3 sort of secretly came out, then 4.... nobody knew 4 existed. And then it all went downhill from there. Great series that never got the advertisement it deserved.
If you say the words "Virtua Fighter" to somebody today, they will remember it in the same way as Donkey Kong or Pac Man and say "huh? Oh yeah, that game from a long time ago."
