I hope Verbatum sees this soon. I don't care if it's a toy you can buy, it freaks me out.

Verbatum is a nice guy...and if his sig doesn't go over the size limit, let it be. :)

Wow! I had no clue my little sig would cause such debate! Interesting as to what people will find disturbing. First of all, I am not using this as my sig to try and disgust people or turn them off. However, anytime a piece of art creates this much emotion, you have to stand and really think about the power of artistic expression, and it's ability to stimulate the mind and cause various reactions, good or bad.

In this case, we have both polar opposite reactions. For those of you who support me, I say thank you. However, I am not having a negative reaction to those who think differently. If you find it disturbing or wrong, that is your right. But think about the fact that art has moved you in some way, enough so that you feel the need to react on these boards. The artist would be thrilled at your reaction: He or she has moved you in a profound way by their art. It's a pretty special thing really, regaurdless of what the piece stands for, and regaurdless of your feelings toward it. It has effected you, and we can see the power of art first-hand.

I have no intention of removing it, nor have I any intention to get into a long debate about what it stands for, and it's purpose. I would rather you form your own ideals about its purpose, and do what you like with your own reactions. For those of you who have a strong reaction toward it, remember that you may have the gift of being receptive and sensitive towards
art. Relish this, as you will be able to enjoy art in ways most people can't.

Till then......

t'was for all you simpson fans...

and in response, verbatum, keep it. Art is a beautiful thing, and depending on who's viewing it, they can either see that as a beautiful thing (god creating man), or a horrible thing.

Well if that's art, let me show you some artistic photography because it is also elicits a strong response!

That toy is not art.

Edit: Knock that "shit" off. Haven't you posted that particular image before? I don't know if you were just trying to steer this off into the war room or not, but either way, stop posting images like these outside of the war room.

Wolf...you are an IDIOT. That picture you posted is something COMPLETELY different..yes that obviously isn't a toy, we all know that, but Verbatum's sig is a MODEL of the human body from under the skin. I find it interesting and scientific, but blasted feces ISN'T, and using that as a argument against Verbatum saying that they're similar is just DUMB. They're both natural, true, but one's real and the other isn't. If you get the willies from seeing verbatum's sig...too bad. The mods apparently allow it and he's had it for a while, and it's a toy. It shouldn't be offensive as that trash you posted is.

Idiot...got what a zealot you are...posting something completely gross to counter what you find gross...my god I absolutely HATE you now for some reason...people like you make me sick..like those bastards who slam abortion clinics...jeezus..

Agreed. A graphic picture of a commode choked with enough shit to overflow even the hardiest of flushes is a less pleasant sight than a picture of a goofy plastic toy. While I'll agree that Verbatum's sig pic sucks, (not really gross, but just... dumb) it didn't warrant being "countered" with something from a gross-out site.

So,
If I piss creativly on your foot & it causes you to have an emotional response, that makes it art?

That sig rocks plain and simple. The pain and suffering that man is going through, a tourcher device of death. Shows us the fate of our own exsistance. The fact that human kinds own destruction is itself. One must wonder, what did this man do for such a death? Yes i know it's a toy, but im trying to look at it from and art point of view. Really good stuff.

Hey now, using Verbatum's definition of art, that is art. I don't see how his sig is any different.

If I take some water-based paint (brown of course) and throw it all over a toilet; it's going to look EXACTLY like that photo I posted.

By what you're saying, I can call that art because it's fake, but the real thing is not?
