Verbatum's sig pic is probably the best on the boards. Keep it, for the children!

I had no clue my little sig would cause such debate! Interesting as to what people will find disturbing. First of all, I am not using this as my sig to try and disgust people or turn them off. However, anytime a piece of art creates this much emotion, you have to stand and really think about the power of artistic expression, and it's ability to stimulate the mind and cause various reactions, good or bad. In this case, we have both polar opposite reactions. For those of you who support me, I say thank you. However, I am not having a negative reaction to those who think differently. If you find it disturbing or wrong, that is your right. But think about the fact that art has moved you in some way, enough so that you feel the need to react on these boards. The artist would be thrilled at your reaction: He or she has moved you in a profound way by their art. It's a pretty special thing really, regaurdless of what the piece stands for, and regaurdless of your feelings toward it. It has effected you, and we can see the power of art first-hand.
I have no intention of removing it, nor have I any intention to get into a long debate about what it stands for, and it's purpose. I would rather you form your own ideals about its purpose, and do what you like with your own reactions. For those of you who have a strong reaction toward it, remember that you may have the gift of being receptive and sensitive towards
art. Relish this, as you will be able to enjoy art in ways most people can't.
Till then......</strong><hr></blockquote>
Your a good guy man, but its sick to me. But hey there is worse stuff out there people call art...

and in response, verbatum, keep it. Art is a beautiful thing, and depending on who's viewing it, they can either see that as a beautiful thing (god creating man), or a horrible thing.

That toy is not art.</strong><hr></blockquote>
I don't even want to know where you got that picture.

Google image search => type "turd" and voila!
. That picture you posted is something COMPLETELY different..<hr></blockquote>
Agreed. A graphic picture of a commode choked with enough shit to overflow even the hardiest of flushes is a less pleasant sight than a picture of a goofy plastic toy. While I'll agree that Verbatum's sig pic sucks, (not really gross, but just... dumb) it didn't warrant being "countered" with something from a gross-out site.
However, anytime a piece of art creates this much emotion, you have to stand and really think about the power of artistic expression, and it's ability to stimulate the mind and cause various reactions, good or bad. <hr></blockquote>
So,
If I piss creativly on your foot & it causes you to have an emotional response, that makes it art?

Hey now, using Verbatum's definition of art, that is art. I don't see how his sig is any different.
If I take some water-based paint (brown of course) and throw it all over a toilet; it's going to look EXACTLY like that photo I posted.
By what you're saying, I can call that art because it's fake, but the real thing is not?
