He only buys up rights to cheap and not so known games. There's no way he could afford the rights to MGS and there's no way Konami would let him touch it. Hell I didn't even know that shitty Alone in the Dark movie was based on the game until much much later. He'll turn MGS into some movie that has nothing to do with the game. If Uwe Boll did get this film I would come out of retirement (kind of like I just did for this thread) and hunt him down. There would be an entertaining movie about it too. BTW I'm not back, but I decided to browse the forums and saw this thread, had to chime in.

seriously...i'd rather want to have Michael Bay make a MGS movie...

i cannot stress enough that Uwe is the worst kind of director, no less, that worst director of our generation...

some would say Paul Anderson is really bad...but at least most of his films are good or bad in a likeable "cult" way...

it seriously boggles the mind of every movie geek that he still gets good actors and big budgets for his movies...and still make those movies come out like straight-to-video backwash that you find late at night or a saturday premere on the Sci-Fi Channel and on the wall at your local Hollywood/Blockbuster Video...

seriously...if there were to be a MGS movie...the director would/should (IMO) be someone like Ryuhei Kitamura (a good friend of Kojima's that actually helped a little bit on Versus, telling Kitamura how the zombies should walk in the film and such) or John Carpenter, which is one of the more obvious choices, seeing all the little refrences to the "Escape From..." movies...or hell, i would even want Hideo Kojima himself to direct it...the guy is like the Tarantino of video games anyways...name other video games and their directors that reference other films for story and characters, yet still manages to make a great, unique, and most of all, ligitimate
stories that never truly paradies the references, thus ruining said stories.

for the love of all that is holy in the world of some great things that are still great...dont let that german asshole ruin a good thing.

Ryuhei Kitamura directed all of the new cutscenes for MGS: The Twin Snakes, so his involvement with Kojima and the MGS series is a bit deeper than just a role as a technical advisor.

That would suck huge nuts. I can’t help but think that after all the trouble, time and tears that was put into Metal Gear that they would let this happen. Metal Gear is designed perfectly to be a movie. I would love to see it made…….correctly.
