I bought Dracula X on ebay from some place in Japan. When I bought it, I was sure it was used. I got it today and found it still wrapped. The annoying part is that a quarter of the wrapping is gone. So its mostly closed.

I only have a couple things I refused to open.
Super Mario Bros 2 (JPN Famicom Disk)
Megaman 9 Press Kit

Since my Turbo will play a backup of this game without trouble, I've considered leaving this wrapped, but I thought I would get all the opinions I could get on the subject.

UPDATE: I opened it. Too good a game not to play it on the original hardware.

sell it and buy an opened one.
sealed games take up space.

Open it so that the next person who owns it doesn't have to wrestle with this moronic dilemma the way you did.

Can you even be really certain that's the original wrap? Lots of re-seals floating around out there.

I would just open it.

Your poll is missing the "who gives a shit?" option.

To add to that, if it was a reseal, then if the game in question is even in the case, and if it is then what kind of condition is it in...

1. Sell it.
2. Buy PSP (if one is not readily available) and CV: Dracula X Chronicles (if not readily available)
4. Play unlockable English version of same game (with subs or dubs, even)
5. ???
6. Profit.

You can't play a backup if you only own an unopened copy. That's cheating.

You make it sound like it's already partly open anyway, like the packaging isn't completely intact anymore, so it probably won't command full unopened prices anyway. Maybe you should just open it.

Tear it open and have fun with the game, all that collectable crap is worthless in a decade or two anyway.

He should just go ahead and do this either way, assuming he doesn't already have it. That's a great collection of games, and the remake is actually pretty well done.

Nice avatar, your welcome ;)

Usually a thread like this gets a one way ticket to the war room, this place has gone soft.

Open it up and enjoy it, thats what I would do as I am too lazy to ebay anything.

Don't unwrap it and join that sealed game forum. You won't regret it.

Open it. Games are meant to be played.

This is the correct answer. Burn copy if you want to make sure and keep it in perfect condition, sure. But a game like DracX is meant to be played, not left on a shelf in it's packaging.

No, just open it and play the original. If you want to keep it in perfect condition then don't be a dumbass and make sure you that put it back in it's case when you're done playing and don't use it as a coaster or strap it to your feet so you can slide around your kitchen floor.
