Guessing you're referring to mine, which rests on wheels (like all Taito cabs) and the leg leveler nuts are broken (like most Vewlixes) so there's nothing to keep it from rolling around. There's no way a Viewlix weighs 250 lbs. I was playing on one not too long ago and it wobbled around just from normal usage. It definitely weighed less than my Blast City. It's basically just a frame, CP and flat panel monitor. I've also seen inside one and it's pretty straight forward.
Chewlix cabs are thinner metal, different monitors, but pretty close.I'm sure they're fine, as rumor has it Chewlixes were just as good as the real thing.

Vewlixes are cheap enough that a Chewlix doesn't make sense these days imo. Chewlix is ok for putting a PC or console in, but not real arcade hardware

I'd come across that vid while wasting time on yt. And that's what got me to want more info as it was kinda short and just skimmed over things. Hence asking here if anyone had any real hands on experience yet.I’d say look up the Time Rift arcade assembly and review video. Seems to be a decent product but with little to no customer support if you have an issue. No instructions is a head scratcher.
Man, I kind of like these Nova Blasts. Not a fan of the decals and also would prefer a oled screen over the current lcd option but from YouTube videos it seems the lcd screen looks nice. Maybe they give you a option to upgrade the screen in the future. Also lag would be a concern for me.
I'm not in the market for a arcade cabinet but this would be the way I would go. Smack a Mister inside and call it a day.
I’ve had a Neo candy and a big red and that’s the way I look at it as a vessel for games anyway. After a while I got tired of the thought of moving and maintaining them. I’ve been down that road. I have arcade sticks with semitsu and sanwa buttons and sticks I even have an old happ stick if I dig it out from an old supergun. I do sometimes miss them but I think in my situation the novelty would wear off, but I’m happy for people that own cabs and I do like playing on them whether it is at a members house or round 1.You know I'm glad at least someone's bothering to make these new again. Sure the Egret III machines are iconic but I can't believe we are nowadays selling for crazy prices what was originally disassembled sheets and panels of metal, fiberglass, or sometimes just plain wood.
But Unico made so many stupid products I knew these were going to have shite QC to it despite best intentions. Even over here where candies are hard to come by (for some reason, despite a ton of independent and licensed imports) I decided against it and just went with some dude with rad woodworking skills and replicated a blue MVS cabinet for daily goobery. Fraction of the cost for what's really just a vessel for games to be played on.
(I had no idea vewlixes weighed 100+kg! they look so lightweight in person...)
@lamoemoe your presence is requiredWho would actually like having one of these things in the house? shudders at the thought.
