I've got a Neo*Geo AES with the debug chip. It is my "everyday" Neo*Geo workhorse. I purchased it a while back and it has given me no trouble. I tried playing Fatal Fury 3 on it recently and the game would not load. I cleaned the contacts on both the cart and the cart slot connectors and still no go. I swapped out the Neo*Geo with another unit that has not been modified and the game worked perfectly in that system. I then went back to the chipped system and tried a few games. Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug X, Mark of the Wolves, Aero Fighters II, WindJammers, King of Fighters 2000, Samarai Shodown III and a few other games and everything worked except Fatal Fury III on that unit.

Could it be that Fatal Fury III is incompatible with the chip? I doubt it but it sure is strange.

Nope. FF 3 stays in its case on my gameshelf just like the rest of my Neo Geo collection out of harms way. Like I said, it works fine on my un-chipped system. In fact, it works perfectly on both of my unchipped systems. It is very odd as like I indicated in my post every other game that I've played works. I did get a hex dump once with Aero Fighters 2 on the chipped system after my post. But after I reseated the cart all was well. I tried Fatal Fury 3 once again and still no go.
