Trying to remember an arcade driving game

Hi dudes, little help required. Played this driving game on a ferry in the late 80's (I think), you might have been a silver porsche, but anyway the idea is that there is a bomb on board your car that will blow up should you not make to to the checkpoint. View was in cockpit or behind.

Any ideas?

I was thinking Chase HQ for a brief second, but I knew the plot didn't match.

Chase HQ though, honestly! Nice try tho

I can't remember if the game was actually any good, as a 7 year old it obviously seemed to be the best game in the world.

Seconded. I usually don't go for driving games, but the "I'll drive. You shoot" theme was pretty unique and fun. That cab is one that I wouldn't mind owning.

I really think it would be cool to have these games ported to next-gen consoles, OutRun did it.. why can't these games get the same love?
