The last movie was mostly setup and they're gonna just abandon that. Fun.
I mean, even being creatively bankrupt it would still make sense to start where the last movie ended. But nope. What do you expect from a corporation which is creatively and morally bankrupt?
That's a really unfortunate name for the UK market
So much this.Fuck Jared Leto, I don’t know how he keeps getting work.

Legacy is a really cool movie but it's far from a great movie. Great visual design, great effects (except for the deaged Flynn), great sound design, incredible soundtrack. But it's mostly setup for a future story we never get to see, and not a ton actually happens in the movie itself. Hedlund is not great as a lead actor and the script is pretty soft. But the movie works because everything looks and sounds so rad, Jeff Bridges has a ton of charisma, and Olivia Wilde is hot as fuck. The trailer is very striking visually, which means it did its job.
I didn't enjoy Legacy very much but friends have told the older me to give it another chance. I will probably do that eventually.
At first I was very concerned about the programs coming into our world. When fantasy characters come into our world, it smacks of a cheap cash grab made at a budget but this trailer isn't peddling a cheap looking film.
And also, Legacy showed Quora (sp) coming into our world at the end so the precedent has been set. Makes me wonder if the girl is her daughter with Garret Hedlund's character or if they're just going to forget that film ever existed.
They've got my attention.
Legacy was a near perfect movie for what it was attempting to be. On the other hand, my unpopular opinion is that the original movie does not hold up at all. I loved it as a kid, but tried rewatching it immediately after seeing Legacy for the first time, and I couldn't even make it all the way through. The effects, whatever, fine for the time and I appreciate the ambition. But I did not remember it being so cartoonishly over-the-top hammy acted with such hokey dialogue from everyone.
The Ares trailer looks like a completely soulless phone-in. Couldn't be less interested after loving Legacy and wanting a sequel. Really not impressed with the promo shots released:
