Hello BonusKun or Jeff - I know ye old topic of installing the developer debug BIOS chip on a Neo MVS cropping up yet again so my deepest apologies for laying this on you like a broken record.

Well I discovered the pause button being the HARD DIP 8 on MVS. And on Bonus' FAQ - to activate the developer debug settings, the key combination is usually "SELECT + C" on controller 2. So if I have the DEV DEBUG BIOS installed on ye MVS instead of the default one, turn on the game and play (an MVS MS3 as an example), go to character select screen, slide the HARD DIP 8 to "ON" at the same time pressing "C" on controller two, will this work for me??? Will I get to the Developer Debug Settings Menu this way??? As of current my setup is a 2-Slot MVS hooked up to a JAMMA ready MAS SuperNova with the Nova having its own joysticks of course. Hey Bonuskun, ya think I still need Neo dedicated controllers hooked up to the MVS controller ports and use "SELECT + C on controller 2" this way??? Hey Jeff, if ya think this will work, lemme send you my 2-Slot MVS for a BIOS Mod job. Juz tell me your price and I'll accommodate ya and get this transaction underway.

no, that doesn't work. it doesn't recognize dip 8 as select for the home bios. select on the controllers won't be recognize as select either in home BIOSes (which the debug bios essentially is), I tried.

Evasyar, I understand where you're coming from ... I brought it up again myself on an old thread. Unfortunately, I'm not one of these people that has the know-how to pull off converting the debug bios to work with MVS. We all know of individuals who are talented enough that have the proper tools, but basically I think it comes down to making it worth a person's time. Perhaps if enough people showed support for the idea, we could finally see a debug bios for MVS. Anyone else out there who would be interested in this?

I would definately like to see a debug bios that triggers on i.e. AB Start or something on controller 1, so it was usable on MVS too.

I have the 4x bios that jmkutrz, and when I switch it to the home bios setting I can use the select button to pause during the game. In test mode go to the hardware test and there it indicates that player 2 has a select button.

hmm.. I just burnt an eprom with the debug bios and tried it in my oldstyle 1-slot.. any text is corrupted, tons of sprites and images are just garbage or a colored square. Did I just get a bad bios or does the debug bios have major probs in oldstyle boards? could someone send me a debug rom that they know is working?

The image was taken from a in-game snapshot using a popular *cough* emulator I opened the shot using M$paint and cut out the image, then converted it to gif. I have the image saved on a webpage, as you will need to have the image stored online to be available in sigs n' stuff. I think Shawn has a guide available on how to do this in the "my profile" section...and look... he grew
