What I find useful is throw slow fireballs at him. When he goes for that move where he warps from one side to the other, that nails him a LOT. Also, if you do the fireball and see him do his huge electro ball, you will have time to either super jump over the ball, or just block it. When he does his green barrier to deflect, the slow fireball will be easier avoided on your behalf.

I will do a lot of roll in and combo. It's dangerous, but can give great results (easy combos like Terry's standing HP into a power geyser or Takuma's back/down HP, forward Kick into his 13 hit pummel).

Good luck, the guy's a real bastard on harder levels.

Iori's low B kicks can duck Iori under the fireball.

You can reflect the fireball if you're using Athena, Chizuru, or Yamazaki.

As Yuri, get a full screen away from him and QCB+C. He'll try to counter with the reflect most of the time, but gets hit. Repeat.

For characters with slides, get within you slide range and throw out a couple of A punches. If he starts charging up his fireball, slide under it and nail him cleanly.

Get away from him and hop rapidly. He'll eventually do a Genicide Cutter (Even though you're nowhere near him.). Hit him with whatever combo or long range attack you want.

I'm sure there are other tricks/patterns to exploit.

heh.

thanks. This guy is a lot more of a boss than Zero. Zero's a walking punching bag, all you need to do is rapid pokes.

Yedell, you're serious that Iori can duck under the fireball by doing low B?

he has about a 1/2-1 second lag time right after the upward arc of his genocide cutter. Kyo's neck grab flame explosion thing can catch him, and do about 25% damage. Don't try and jump into it.

Walk towards him and throw a light punch. He will try to do the cutter. Guard as soon as your punching animation starts. As soon as he hits with the "Genocide cutta!" you will auto-cancel into your blocking animation. after his first phase, let go and go to town.

just don't jump.

What I usually do is dash in, block his immediate Genocide Cutter (he ALWAYS does that move! Fuck it!) and either combo or SDM his ass while he's recovering. When he uses the electric ball move, block (I've never had good timing with dashing on those.) And don't jump if you can help it.

The easiest way is to use Takuma and launch fully charged slow Haoushikououken at him.

He will be down, because of trying to jump or too late activating his reflector.

QCF+punch; if my memory serves me right.

One version absorbs them and adds energy to you meter, the other version sends them back; slightly altered appearance-wise and and alot faster than they were thrown.
