First aes game I bought was Thrash Rally.

Has anyone ever hooked up 2 aes carts for multiplayer? The cart has what looks like a headphone socket on it, so I guess it's not too tricky

There was a thread about thrash rally aes linking... try to search.
The socket is for a stereo minijack plug. On MVS you have to set dip switches... i don't know how it works on AES.

We played Riding Hero too!
The cab have no B button, so we didn't use turbo, but just to try it.
Trash Rally is far better, but it plays quite good.
Here's a video, sorry for the low quality... especially the first part...

It's not bad, the controls are good, of course it's not realistic to play with a steering wheel, but it plays better than with a stick.
However... we are already back to Thrash Rally

Hehe. I know I've said it before - but what you need for Riding hero is a Namco Suzuka 8 Hours Cab ^^

but yeah, you could also just play Suzuka 8 Hours instead and have more fun...
