I noticed when looking up the Lost Levels on Wiki that it apparently went on sale in Europe and Australia in September, but was withdrawn on October 1st.

Anyone know why, or rather, if this will be common? I guess I had expected the games would always be available, but if they're going to be disappearing, I don't want to miss out.

On the Fridays of 14, 21 and 28 September 2007, earlier Japan/America-only games were released on the Virual Console to celebrate the Japanese Hanabi Festival, with series-based weekly themes. The games released for the Festival were Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Mario's Super Picross, Ninja Gaiden, Ninja JaJaMaru-kun, Gradius III and Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Earth

We'll get Neo games in 2008, didn't say exactly when next year though. But they are coming.

Source?

Last I had heard, Ben Herman was promising that they would start to appear before the end of the year.

Gamespot. Looking at it again, it does say the end of the year. Though with Playmore, I wouldn't expect to see anything until the beginning next year with their consistent delays.

Thanks for the link.

I wouldn't be surprised either if they didn't make it, but to be fair to SNKP Fatal Fury is already rated by the ESRB (T for Teen if you're interested), it is just that this 2-4 game release schedule means there is a huge backlog of games waiting to come out with Nintendo giving preference to their own titles.

Yeah, they're only trickle through. We'll get a week or two of Neo titles, then it'll be once in a great while between them.

Wow, that is totally unexpected.

Wonder if other games will launch October 8th or if Neo Geo alone gets the spotlight.

Personally I'm not picking any of these up, waiting for NAM-1975 and a few others, but this does mean I need to start trying to get my hands on a Hori Fighting Stick Wii.

This whacks my gourd... I really wish I hadn't checked this thread today. I would have loved to have seen Sin and Punishment in the store for myself.

Awesome news though.

God damn it... :oh_no:

Looks like Nintendo decided to do Neo Geo games this year. Just checked the Virtual Console on my Wii. They added Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, and World Heroes. All are 900 points.

Also, they are all done by a company I've never heard of: D4 enterprises. I was under the impression that SNK Playmore still owned these games.

Very strange.

I can't read Japanese, but there are a few links on the main page that say Wii and mention something about the Neo Geo so maybe they say what they did.

My kanji skills are very rusty but the links on the main page all say Wii Virtual Console. The two from September just seem to mention a short delay in releasing Fatal Fury. The third link is a Press Release which is more interesting. The three games listed in the PDF are Fatal Fury, World Heroes and Magician Lord. Hopefully someone can lend their expertise and give a better account of the press release.

Damn, SMB2 is really one of the most difficult games I've ever played.

It is hard to tell if it is frustrating or fun.

I've had the game for going on 2 weeks now and still stuck on World 8, specifically 8-3.

I don't think there is a chance in hell that I'll get 8 stars on this game and access to Worlds A-D within a year.

Posted from my Wii

Finally beat SMB2...once.

I got to 9-3 and died.

Now to beat it seven more times.

I have to say though, by comparison to SMB I'm getting much more play time for my money, no matter how frustrating.

I entered a contest for The Lost Levels when All-Stars came out - I was one of the first 500 in America to beat the game and got a patch to prove it.

Anyone else have issues with these games on the Wii?

I downloaded World Heroes since I have AOF and FFBA on my PS2(which both of those collections do this video glitch as well but no the Metal Slug Anth.)

Anyway here is the issue.

Running Wii in component 480p WS to my Sanyo 30" WS CRT HDTV.

World Heroes runs but it has crazy flicker!

I get the same issue when I run the AOF or FF collections on my PS2 in component but what I do is run S-Vid when I play those on the PS2.

IS there some weird emulation that doesnt like my TV? The Metal Slug Anthology on Wii and PS2 runs fine in component.

:(
