I’d really love to see Matrimelee. I bought mine new from Shawn for $200 in ‘05 and sold it for the same just a few years later. I’m still eating crow over that. Same for SVC Chaos. Bought new and sold later for $200. We don’t even want to talk about Slug 3. Redemption must come…

I personally wouldn't buy SVC Chaos as I already have it on NEO•GEO and Switch, but I am rooting for it to come out because I'd like for more people to be able to get it.

Well Slug 1, NTM and MOTW are already there amongst other unobtainiums. I wonder if the new carts will work on the old systems? Either the new system upshifts to 5v and the new carts downshift to 3.3v or some sort of auto detect occurs. Worst case the new carts don't work on the old systems.

I would be 100% mega shocked if they translated the Quiz games. Never paid them any mind until Alec's reviews and they actually seem interesting. Gave Quiz KOF a shot through emulation with a translation layer and it seemed like something I'd enjoy without a janky translation under normal game rules.
They need to do this with matrim Lee

If they indeed follow up with their claim of including all the 5 courses in BTG, then I personally hope some of the next releases will be about games that came out on other platforms with additional content. For example if I remember correctly the PS2 version of KOF2000 had some exclusive strikers?

When you look at the big NEO•GEO fighting series, Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown & The King of Fighters are represented by titles very late in the lifespan of the console (Garou, V Special & KOF '02). Obviously chosen because getting the originals would be very expensive.

So viewing through that lens, I'm going to predict that World Heroes Perfect is selected for the next batch of AES re-releases. The series wasn't represented in volume 1 and WH Perfect is by far the most valuable cart in the series.

Whoever owns Data East has been licensing their games for things like the Evercade, so it might be possible to get them on board for this. There's a few great Neo Geo titles from them.

Arc System Works owns Technos, and they've been very active with re-releasing old Kunio games, including Super Dodge Ball recently on the Switch. If this AES+ project is successful, maybe they'd hop on and we'd get Super Dodge Ball, Double Dragon, and Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer.

Visco's games have been rereleased a lot lately too. An official AES cart of Breakers Revenge would be great.

exA-Arcadia just released a new arcade version of Breakers, so they may have some exclusivity on the license for it. If that’s the case, you may be waiting a while.

What are the possibilities for these getting a release?

- Ninja Masters'
- Neo Driftout (seems this one isn't possible)
- Nightmare in the Dark
- Prehistoric Isle 2
- Blazing Star
- Strikers 1945
- Bang Bead
- Last Blade 1/2
- RBFF2

LB 1&2 - These more than anything. The first one is one of my all-time favorite games.
World Heroes Perfect - The only one of the series I don't currently own for the home system.
Matrimelee - I'd probably sell my complete MVS kit. I suppose licensing would hold this one up, but a person can dream.
NitD
Some more of the KoFs
X - A complete set of the Slugs would be tits, but if I could only have one more, it would be this one.
A four player version of Bomberman w\ adapter - A fantasy pick.
A version of SvC Chaos that's actually good.
Ninja Masters
Blazing Star

The biggest pipe dream would be for them to start making the occasional new game. I doubt, even with the renewed interest that this is creating, that new games would be economically viable. Not even with that sweet sweet oil money to back them up.

I see every SNK(+Yumekobo and Saurus)/ADK games being on the table except Eight Man (due to licensing), games that require specialized controllers (ie: Irritating Stick) and the mahjong/quiz games.

Data East and Sunsoft games are a possibility since both brands are active and are being licensed out.

Hamster owns the NMK (Zed Blade) and Video System libraries: I don't know what their attitude to licensing out their properties is, but I don't see why they'd refuse since this aims at a completely different market than Arcade Archives.

Viewpoint and Matrimelee are unlikely because Sega-Sammy is notoriously precious about rereleasing anything that's not the same 20 done-to-death Genesis roms.

About RotD, wasn't there a reissue announced some time ago? I wonder if that could be rereleased in the new form.

Yes...

...and from the same publisher as Breakers...

...and the VISCO collection...

...so all of that seems feasible.

Asking for games from other platforms, like people asking for KOF2K2UM... I don't think they realize how big of an ask that is. The original code is probably lost, for one thing. Are you asking for someone to decompile KOF2K2 for Neo Geo and then start adding things? I mean, how?

I am seeing brand new Neo Geo games at Pixel Heart (new indie titles), which are selling for 300-400 Euro. Are these so expensive because they are really expensive to make or just "to continue the tradition"? If its the former I wonder if they could team up with Plaion and use whatever tech they have to make cheap AES titles. Then everybody wins.
