So what are they going to do get everyone who downloaded from that site a spanking. Seriously it would cost them a fortune to sue each and every person.

You only have to sue a couple of randomly selected contestants to put fear into the hearts of many.

I don't download movies, so to tell with them!

But this does leave me in even more of a bind when it comes to searching for torrent sites. :(

The illegal downloading of motion pictures robs thousands of honest, hard-working people of their livelihood, and stifles creativity.

Thats the funniest shit ive heard in a long ass time

Since when it was illegal to download torrent files?...

... since the MPAA decided so. Money talks and Law is not blind.

Anyway the torrent site I used to download ISOZ from, www.bitconsole.com is also dead... :crying: And I cared to keep there a ratio of around 1... :oh_no:

Yea fuck the MPAA and such..

Basically a site which is hosting torrent files is doing nothing that can be considered illegal.
A torrent file only contains the info to get your BitTorrent client to establish a connection to seeds and peers: only like tracker's URL and a hash.

It's the trackers that are a major weak point of the BitTorrent protocol...

i think we should be allowed to DL movies, after all the time we've been robbed as consumers watching shitty ones. time>money. i think a class action law suit is in order.

Some one needs to reestablish the rights of the consumers. After all we make them what they are not vice versa.

I think the MPAA's crackdown on prereleased movies and movie downloads on the net is simply a blinder to take the distraction off of the real crime: a stagnant movie industry that hasn't really produced anything that great in the past few years. Sure, there are great movies that come along now and again, such as Collateral or Ray or whatever, but the number of good movies to shit has been steadily decreasing, at least in my opinion. So that's why I don't find it to be too much of a coincidence that this crackdown started at about the same time the industry got stuck in the doldrums...

I can't believe I'm agreeing with DashK.

He's right, I watched so many shitty movies, I wish I could get a refund in time wasted.

I've been using bitTorrent quite a bit lately, but never to download new stuff. Like Kazaa, the only reason I use it is to find shit that I either can't buy (because it was never shown outside of TV like old cartoons or comedies) or MP3s of game soundtracks that haven't been in production for years.

If some of these companies would like to release some of this stuff on DVD I'd buy it.

Thanks for the link.

Already knew about Isohunt.com but it's unfortunately down at the moment.

Last new movie I downloaded was Shaun of the Dead after I heard about it.

Didn't realize that a month later it would be in US theaters. Still a good enough movie that I plan to buy the DVD, though.

People in Hollywood are overpaid anyways. I could care less if some poor actor can only afford 2 new Lambos instead of 3 because I helped pirate his movie.
