Last week I visited fabulous Vancouver, British Columbia. It was my second visit and I actually got to see more of the city this time around (my first visit was for an anime convention). I spent most of my trip drawing, hanging out with my generous friend/host, and kicking back. I did only a little sightseeing as I prefer to go where the locals go. Hence all the food porn. Enjoy!
They are quite the patriotic folk.
Miles and miles of greeeennn...
It threatened to rain, but it never did. Also, the average temp was in the 60s.
Asahi in a chilled mug. :d
Lunch at Tanuki sushi. This place is amazing.
I spent Saturday helping my friend out at Mini-Comi, a more art-centric con after the demise of Anime Evolution. I scored quite a bit of art as well as a few buttons.
A shot of downtown Vancouver:
Our late lunch at the Golden Medal. This soup is the small portion, by the way.
VANCOUVER AQUARIUM GET!
The city was perfectly intact. No sign of damage anywhere.
It's like a miniature zoo...
These Belugas are the star attraction. I tried getting a better shot, but there were tons of kids around and I got bit by a mosquito.
My new signature drink, the Fat Wesker:
The rest of my trip was spent being a bum and enjoying my time off. So have some Canadian BBQ and more road pics:
For lithy: this is Russell Cream Ale. The BBQ place had it on draft. Kinda sorta IPA-ish, but very drinkable. And it's a proper pint.
Random guy pimping shampoo I think...?
For the record, these were taken around 8:15pm. The sun doesn't set until 9:20pm or so.
I ended my trip the way I began it: with Tim Horton's.
From Denver International. I'm glad to see the ladies' room is safe from tornadoes.
