Last week I visited fabulous Vancouver, British Columbia. It was my second visit and I actually got to see more of the city this time around (my first visit was for an anime convention). I spent most of my trip drawing, hanging out with my generous friend/host, and kicking back. I did only a little sightseeing as I prefer to go where the locals go. Hence all the food porn. Enjoy!

They are quite the patriotic folk.

It threatened to rain, but it never did. Also, the average temp was in the 60s.

Lunch at Tanuki sushi. This place is amazing.

I spent Saturday helping my friend out at Mini-Comi, a more art-centric con after the demise of Anime Evolution. I scored quite a bit of art as well as a few buttons.

Our late lunch at the Golden Medal. This soup is the small portion, by the way.

The city was perfectly intact. No sign of damage anywhere.

These Belugas are the star attraction. I tried getting a better shot, but there were tons of kids around and I got bit by a mosquito.

My new signature drink, the Fat Wesker:

The rest of my trip was spent being a bum and enjoying my time off. So have some Canadian BBQ and more road pics:

For lithy: this is Russell Cream Ale. The BBQ place had it on draft. Kinda sorta IPA-ish, but very drinkable. And it's a proper pint.

Random guy pimping shampoo I think...?

For the record, these were taken around 8:15pm. The sun doesn't set until 9:20pm or so.

I ended my trip the way I began it: with Tim Horton's.

From Denver International. I'm glad to see the ladies' room is safe from tornadoes.

It is indeed an otter. It spent a good 5 minutes just rolling over and scratching/eating its butt.

One of the volunteers had an otter pelt for guests to feel. It's kind of morbid to have a pelt next to the otter tank, but it was cool since she explained how it keeps the otter insulated.

i almost jumped in the beluga tank a bunch of years ago.
though i would have gotten around a thousand dollars, apparrently the belugas probably would have drowned me.
or so the staff said.

The Vancouver aquarium is home to the most adorable otters on YouTube:

Damn those fries look good:upf:

The fries were delicious. They had a really interesting seasoning that almost tasted sweet, but the sweetness lasted only for a couple of moments.

The place was Memphis Blues in Surrey. I had their pulled pork sandwich with a Boylan's soda/beer to wash it down.

Boylan's is good soda for sure! I get some at my store sometimes.
