Florida State is obliterating BYU's face.

So that just leaves two undefeated teams in the MWC. TCU and Colorado State.

Georgia's offense is looking great again, too bad the defense continues to look like the special olympics.

Masoli didn't look that bad.

On the other hand, Corp looked like crap. Once Barkley is back USC will be a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately it is already too late. Bummer for the pac-10 since college football is such a beauty pageant, USC (at best) can hope for a Rose Bowl appearance again, which means Oregon can (at best) hope for the Holiday Bowl.

@ Fami - do you REALLY think the Rox can compete with the Blue? :)

It'll be a test when their offense goes up against Arizona State's defense next week and if UGA's defense plays like it did tonight, it's going to be a long night for them. Of course, the Sun Devils played the likes of Idaho State and Louisiana/Monroe so that's not an accurate guage against a major college.

Florida isn't the same without Harvin. Kind of glad BYU and Utah lost.

USC ...:oh_no: Cal looked really good, I forgot they were ranked so high.

Too bad Texas didn't lose.

When we come to Miami in two weeks, that could could be a good game. :smirk:

Maybe. When the Rockies click, they're damn near unbeatable. Aaron Cook and Huston Street are coming back from their injuries this week and tonight we finally started to hit.

The Dodgers have had our number this year, but I think we all know what can happen when the Rockies get on a roll.

USC should be kicked out of the top 25 for losing to a team that did not win a single game last year. If they continue to play like this, I see them losing to Cal, both Oregon schools, and even UCLA in conference play.

I say this as someone who was actually rooting for the Vols to win.

Did you even watch the game? Or are you talking shit from the highlight reel?

Yes, I did watch the game. The Florida defense was pretty good considering they only let Tennessee see their first touchdown late in the fourth quarter (when the game was basically over anyway). Tebow hardly ever turns the ball over (he only had four interceptions all last year), but if Tebow didn't have that fumble late in the game it could've easily been 30-6.

USC and BYU drop big time in the polls and yes, that's WASHINGTON at the 24 spot in the AP Poll.

Personally, I'd of placed them higher than 24.

They put up a hell of a game against LSU who are a great team before knocking off USC.

I think they're a much better than people think and not just some chumps who got lucky and upset a top ranked team.

Nah, Florida controlled them nearly the entire game. The only way Tennessee was able to score was because of dumb turnovers.

What a load.

As you can read above, I am hardly an apologist for our team this year, but we played Florida better than anyone could have expected.

We had our first two opportunities in the red zone and only came away with two field goals. Had we been able to close those out we could have been driving for the game winning field goal at the end of the game just as easily as it could have been 30-6.

So, your hypothetical is just worthless garbage. So you don't think Tebow normally turns the ball over. Well guess what. He did. Twice. Neither one were fluke accidents. One was a fantastic pick by Berry, the other ball was legitimately stripped out, he didn't just up and drop it.

I had no idea how easy it is for Vols fans to get their panties in a bunch.

What a load.

You totally missed the point. Florida didn't need another touchdown, but they wanted to because that's the way they play. They love to murder other teams especially when you have a loud mouth like Kiffin. They could've played more conservatively rather than let Tebow run as much as he did there, but like I said they just wanted to kill Tennessee.

Either way, the Tennessee offense was incompetent or the Florida defense did a great job. I'd like to think it was a little bit of both.

Now you aren't making any damn sense.

Florida was a 4 touchdown favorite, everyone knew that Meyer is the sort of coach that wants to romp on a team that has done something to them. When Kiffin accused him of cheating (incorrectly) in the off-season, he wanted to put 70 on us. They got 23. They didn't play conservatively, our defense played spectacularly.

Our offense was semi-incompetent. We got the running game going a few times, it was nothing like the UCLA game, but how does that relate at all to what I was talking about.

I don't think you read my post correctly. I said they COULD'VE played more conservatively and not go balls out for the touchdown after it was already 23-6, but they did and left themselves open for a turnover.

And again, they expected 70. You could tell the crowd wanted a rout. Nothing about that game was a rout. We're they ever in danger of losing the game? Probably not, but Tennessee gave them a game they didn't expect.

I just take issue with the fact that you think the only points were off of 'dumb turnovers' when our first possession was a 60 yard march down the field resulting in a field goal. The offense was simple and solid. About all that can be expected of them this year.

The defensive game planning was masterful as you could expect from elder Kiffin.

BYU laid the biggest egg in getting so heavily thrashed. The thing with a team like FSU is that they're always going to have talented people, and the moment you look away they will turn into Florida State. I feel for the Cougs, but hot damn. Utah got beat the right way (if there is such a thing... actually, as a USC fan this week, let me say YES).

So its TCU and Boise State as the standard bearers. The Horned Frogs really ought to get a chance after so many solid years.

I never said it was a rout. I just think Florida had that game pretty well managed and there really was no imminent danger of losing that game.

As for the USC loss, it was three big things: (1) bad coaching decisions (we left three points on the field at the end of the first half... boy did that come to haunt us), (2) two opposing coaches who knew our system well enough to exploit that, and (3) turnover ratio (3-0). Two of those turnovers were deep on Washington's side of the field. In fact we almost doubled their offense. Despite not having a perfect game on their side, they were able to properly exploit the situation. It helps that Steve Sarkesian was our OC last season, and their DC Nick Holt was our DC last year (in addition to three other coaches who moved over) --so they knew our tendencies and we didn't do enough to mix it up while making bad decisions.

We stayed too conservative because super-frosh-QB Matt Barkley was sitting out due to injury (he who led us from behind at Ohio State), and Aaron Corp just couldn't get things moving. Meanwhile the lack of super-safety Taylor Mays (who, along with Tenn's Berry is one of the two top Safeties in the country, no question) due to injury also screwed up our coverage --which Sark was good at exploiting.

The best part is I actually called their strategy for their first and only TD: they were at the 5, they then tested the D with a man in motion, noticed we had switched from zone to man (they had success with small passes against our zone), and then called a TO. I told my friend "they're now going to spread the field and use [QB] Locker's great running ability to drive up the middle". Lo-and-behold, they came back to the line with an empty backfield, wide-outs at the far end, and then had Locker run up the middle (he's Tebow-like in his running ability).

I have some great photos, I will get around to uploading them...
