The slim's D-pad has been improved over the original. Much more suited for fighters than the DS's little crosshair.

Really? Awesome! Didn't they manage to beat all the homebrew possibilties out of the Slim, or is it just as exploitable as the original PSP?

Wish I had easy access to play anytime.

Oh Alec, YOU SO CRAZAY!

You DO have easy access to play any time, with a PSP or a DS! That's exactly why I asked.

You're only limiting yourself.

(You know I'm just messin' with you, as usual)

so you're harping on other people because you can't play it because
your set up is at mommy and daddy's house?
wah wah.

Hey now, having stuff in storage is not a crime! :p

I'm pretty sure playing them on a supergun in your parents basement doesn't qualify as "original glory".

LMAO. Well put. Isn't a supergun/consolized MVS really only emulating the arcade experience?

So, one could say NeoAlec is into emulation.

One could shout it from the rooftops.

One could even put it into one's sig.

Nope, just as exploitable as ever. For the moment that is, Sony is revising the hardware, so if you were going to get a slim I'd buy it now. All you need at the moment is a modified PSP battery (you can do the mod real quick yourself with a pen knife), and a memory card with some software on it to downgrade a slim to custom software.

Now, some old homebrew that required the old 1.5 kernel on the old PSP doesn't
work on the slim, but the majority of the stuff has been updated for slim support. I

currently have the following emulators on mine:

MVSPSP (plays essentially all neo games)

CPS2PSP - perfect cps2 emulation

CPS1PSP - perfect cps1 emulator

NEOCDZPSP - neo cd. games are ripped. music in mp3 format.

PicoDrive 1.51 (almost perfect sega genesis/sega cd emulation)

gPSP v0.9 HEN-D release. full speed GBA emulator, runs most games perfectly.

Master Boy 2.02 - gameboy/color, game gear, master system emulator. allows custom color mapping for old game boy games.

SNES9xTYL ME chilly willy release - SNES emulation isn't so hot on the psp, but this is the best emulator. runs most games decently.

PSone is emulated perfectly under the PSP's own firmware. all you need to do is rip discs, and convert them over.

RACEpsp - neo geo pocket color emulator. author also translated card fighters clash 2. released this emulator just to play it.

NesterJ 1.11 - NES emulator

Final Burn Alpha test build - someone is working on a port of final burn alpha on the psp, so far no sound. but plays donpachi tated at full speed.

For me it does because the game is 100% and the board is 100% original hardware. I don't have much interest in recreating the arcade experience. They were smoky, weridos hung out there, you had to stand the whole time while you played, and you had to pay for each game. For some people the cab may be a requirement, but I prefer the TV. I'd play them at my own place, but I also like playing games with my brothers when we're all together for the holidays. It's convenient to keep it at my parents' place for that. I don't seem to get much classic arcade gaming done anymore except when I go back.

Until you have an RGB monitor, you're just another emulation user, mister. :p

You should pick up a DS or a PSP for your classic gaming needs. It's awesome.

I have an idea!

How about you stop acting like an asshole? He was directly addressing the point.
