so im looking around for a cab to install a 1 slot in, specifically the MV-1B. I came across a tekken 3 cab on Craigslist. The seller says everything works but the monitor board needs repair soon. He is asking $125 for it. How easy is it to put the 1 slot in it? Or will it require alot of work? Barely becoming familiar with the neo boards an have no idea about others.

Here is a pic of the cab

thanks

Neo is easy - If you don't have experience with monitors you better pack a lunch. If I were looking for a jamma cab to jam shit in, the monitor would be my largest concern. If you like to solder and all it needs is a cap kit, $125 isn't bad - you'll drop that on a 25" monitor on a good day.

Yeah, i can solder, but i dont have experience with monitors. But thats the point of this project. Well besides the main objective getting the cab to work/play ng games. I plan for it to be a learning experience.

Word, we'll see what the other guys say. I"d try to get in on a hundo-bill with it. I'm not a monitor pro or a cab expert - it's a dynamo or knockoff - I know I've seen that stacked side before - and it's probably a WG monitor. Power supplies are cheap, fuxing with wiring can be a pain, but it's not bad - but monitors can be a pain in the ass, and can stop your heart.

That's a Dynamo HS-9. For some reason, it's difficult to find info on it. Most people think that blue/gray is the original color scheme, and it looks to be in good shape. Try for $100. Probably a good starter cabinet.

You should clarify with the seller about the monitor. He may think burn-in is a fixable condition. Replacing the caps for the monitor isn't hard if you have experience soldering. There's plenty of info on the internet on how to not kill yourself doing it, also. Many people have done it, and it's only really scary the first time.

Define 'needs work.' That's the sticking point. Sight unseen, if the CP is populated and it has a harness and is not falling apart structurally, I'm game at that price. It's a very nice cab to have, the best short of a candy if you ask me. Can you get pictures of a game running on the monitor or go see it in person?
