After posting and following threads concerning NGCD mod jobs I think it would be a good idea to separate the tech forum into cart and cd stuff. The NGCD has its very own issues, but most of them either get posted three or four times or simply drown. Whaddaya think?

I dunno,
This site doesnt have anyone full time doing tech help.

Let's face it, 80% of us dont know jack about repairs.

I think the more you split it up, the less likely you are to have the few people that can help,
bother to go through all the tech forums.

I think its better, that if you havent gotten helped,
to bump the post every now & then.
Say once a week..
Just my 2cents.

Hm. I´d say that folks who don´t know anything about tech stuff would be happy about dedicated fora. That would help to prevent endless trial-and-error while trying to find, for example, NGCD NTSC mods, in a load of threads like "NTSC to PAL". Most of them are cart-related, so a non-techie definitely gives up after reading four or five of ´em.

Instead of a seperate forum, maybe we should consider a Tech FAQ page. Just a little something that answers common questions. Just an idea...

It has also been mentioned in the tech group in the last couple of days , that maybe a FAQ would be a good idea. Examples being Jamma connector pinouts, builing a supergun, repairing a NeoCD pad, pinouts for ports and general wiring diagrams.

Nothing as excessive as electronic schematics for neo boards , but just the little jobs that i had to crawl all around the net for.

My vote is for the faq - maybe even a HTML one so you don't still have to wade through stuff you don't wanna know.

Some things I've come across a lot are:

Why doesn't this cart work?
Why do i get garbled graphics/sound?
(both above often relating to cleaning techniques)
How do I tell if I have a fake cart?
Why won't my JAP console work on a UK TV?

etc....

I'd be happy to contribute to such a document if needed
