I posted this over on arcade otaku the other day, but thought someone here might happen to have an idea of something to try...

I bought a Taito F3 motherboard (with Bubble Symphony and Bubble Memories), and when I hook the board up to my Sega Astro City (15k), I get sound, but the picture is distorted. The picture is not rolling or anything, though. It's stationary like this:

I tested the F3 board in my supergun (which uses a CGA (15k) to VGA board for the display) and the picture is correct on that, so I know the board works. I also confirmed that the F3 board was receiving the same voltage in my supergun rig and Astro City cab.

I tried jumping pins 1 (ground) and 14 (video ground) on my jamma harness to see if that would get the board to display right in my cab, but no luck.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

What kind of chassis is in the Astro? If it was switched out with a WG, it will never sync properly, which is what is going on.

Hmm, then that is odd. Have you fiddled with the Horizontal sync knob?

Augh. No, I didn't. I tried that just now and turning the Horizontal Hold knob did fix the issue...
but wow, this F3 board requires the knob to be turned a full 180 degrees in the opposite direction just to have the screen centered compared to what works on every other board I have (namely my Konami's GX games, my System 256, and my MVS). @_@

Thanks for the suggestion!
