A guy whom I bought a few arcade stuff in the past called me today offering me Taito "Canary" arcade cabinets, he told me hey are made of fiberglass and/or plastic and metal, I told him to send me pics of the cabinets first to see in what condition they are, he said they are in better condition than the one from this picture here:

Should I get this cab? price is $60, they are complete with its original monitor and one PCB inside, he also told me that there's also 2 more Astro cities with broken monitors, $50 each, I'm not sure if I should buy more cabs since I already have 3 Astros and 1 Aero City, room is not a problem but I don't know what to do with that many cabs in my house since I have no friends:D and just thinking in the money that I will need to spend to get the monitors on these things working again gives me the chills:(...

How difficult is to source parts for these things...considering that I live near the end of the world...that is South America JFYI.

Yeah...I forgot to tell you people, but to get them shipped to my home it's $25 each, so price for 2x cabs shipped will be $170.

Arcade game your PM box is full, anyways, I'm In Uruguay, South America, shipping a 100 kilograms package will be around $1700 USD, that's the cheapest shipping method.

You said space is not a problem but are worried what it might cost to get the cabs fully working again - will you regret passing on this opportunity considering your personal circumstances?

If you can stretch the cash, get them. If you are gonna starve and get evicted, leave them.

This is the deal of the century you have been offered. I hope your circumstances get better soon.

I know they are cheap, but I decided to ask first because I already have 4 arcade cabs in my house, so I don't know if I really need more of them, I also wanted to know if these cabs offer any advantage or maybe have some feature that makes them stand out above the other cabs that I already own.

You will buy the Canary cab.

You will pass on the broken Astro's.

You will never regret this purchase.

We will all continue to be jealous you have an extremely rare cab.

Another thing that I forgot to mention, and this is a very important one, the monitor condition on the Canarys is "unknown".

Unless the tube is broken which is unlikely the Canary has a 25" 15/24 kHz Nanao MS8 which is a common monitor for parts or repairs .

That canary flew along way from home. Did Uruguay have a bustling arcade scene at one point?

I'm in awe of your scoops.

It was indeed, the arcade scene here was quite prolific throughout the whole country, even in small towns like mine, far from the capital, here we had like 4 o 5 arcade centers with 40-50 games each, Candy cabs are quite common here, specially the old Sega ones, Aero and Astro City, some korean cabs which I don't remember the model used to be pretty common around here too.

$60
dollars
now.

They are already mine because in this country nobody else besides me buy this kind of stuff.

A Brit would pay about $36 for a $60 Candy Cab.

And and the rest of Europe would pay about $43 for a $60 Candy Cab.

Exchange rates suck. :lolz:

I'm not the biggest fan of the Canary look... But for 60$ (+25$) hot damn! I would order up as many as I could spare the cash for and flip 'em locally on Craig's for a cool 150$.
